i bought Hippo 10 bcoz of the sound. resembles the UM2 + Boom.
So yeah it's good.
And the thing that made me confirm is the anti-tangle wire.
looks cool and practical. unlike the normal dangerously thin hippo cables.

Well, i m kinda long winded so here goes.
i went to jaben to get a headphone that is good for rock and metal.
so i was recommended Grado SR80i. Which i think sucks so bad. and it's ugly.
next it was the DT770 250ohm. Again ugly! And didnt meet my expectations.
Then was introduced to Grado SR325i. Not wat i wanted either.
Alessandro MS1 came next. Also not what i was looking for.
And then.......
Yuheng brought out the secret weapon...
HD650 + Symphonica. Damn! This is what i want!
But after hearing the price, the search restarted. hahahhaa.
So i then tested A1000x. looks awesome. sound...meh!
yuheng oso pening d at this moment, dunno what else to recommend.
So i simply asked for ES10.
and...
BAMMMM!!!!!!
this is what i was looking for!
everything is there..perfect balance!
but then....
Yuheng suggested ESW9. At first it sounded flat.
But then after amplification with The Protector......
.......
.......
.......
.......
Suddenly it sounded almost similar to my ES3x!
This is what i've been looking for!
Awesomeness!!!!!

So yeah, make it short, i got the ESW9!
SOrry for the long story!


Next round, maybe a tube amp which i dare not try just now.

as for the price, i think it's better to refer to yuheng or walabies.
It retails for 1.4k btw.

What is the "more" part?

ESW9 sounds better with the Protector.
The space, separation, and the bass tamed a bit.
Basically awesome Sh*t.
the amp is 2k only.
ANd its damn worth it!

If only i can make the ESW9 Balanced!
