I think its safer using windows based flash program. If anything screw u can just reflashed it again inside windows. If from DOS the mobo would be dead if something bad happened. sweat.gif

er...
i don't think so man,
if anything screwed although inside windows you are screwed also,

flashing halfway can power off = corrupted bios (don't try this at home)
*
Haha, that's a super one loh. But then if flash inside dos and windows is different. Windows if not succesfull can reflash(provided no electric cut-off), dos im not so sure but its a bit complicated(never did it tho) laugh.gif .

Dude, power surge Automated Voltage Regulator also can liao. No need use UPS lah, if have extra money buy more reliable UPS like APC or PowerKinetics(PK) so the money spend is worth it.

QUOTE(GKWong @ May 18 2006, 12:02 PM)
i think my UPS ady very reliable for me... its from Liebert. Can last at least 40mins when power down.
*
What i mean was not the backup time but the long term reliability. Even PK ups broke down after some time. I think APC have a good quality ones and some time now i'll be getting it for my rig.

im gonna mod it to mantaray xt 2t later haha and you should too coz it will give ya 30% more perfomance!
*
Are u sure ? unsure.gif Have u tested it ? I get lower bandwidth using 2T d26 mantarays xt. 2T is only for double sided rams, 1T is for single sided. There's nothing u can achieve more with 2T using a single sided tho with a 1T. So if youre using single sided its better to stay with 1T.

i use this mobo with mantarays xt 2t before... and can get fsb close to 230 with 2-2-2-11 barton 1.9volt ram 2.9 air cooler.
*
It depends on the ram also dude. What is the ram chipset that you're using to get the 230mhz with 2-2-2-11 timing ? No use using a d26 Mantarays XT 2T if ure using generic strawberry rams.

251mhz at 2.5-2-2-4 eh ? Very nice timings u have there. Mind to post some SANDRA memory benchmark scores ?

Since u mention the rams ure using then its something nice that a Hynix D43 double sided can get that kind of results.

Btw satanhead2003, did u test any other BIOS other than the taipan D27 ?

Not all D43 can do 2-2-2-x timings. Tighten the memory timings depends actually and it doesnt mean tight = higher bandwidth. I get the best bandwidth at 3-4-4-10 @ 255mhz and rock stable. Even cl2.5 wont give me any better results. So what i want to stress here is to test it yourself wether which one give the best results, unnecessary tight timings wont do any good if it gives bad results.

From what i see about D27 bios, they are meant for tight timing so i think i wouldnt use that for now since my D43 wont benefit much from that bios. Maybe when i have NBTD then i'll try and see how it fares with D26 bios. Its either D27 Hellfire or D27 Taipan.

Yup, its totally stable at stock. If you wanna overclock it, i suggest you find another 512bmb sticks with single sided to match your first module. Then you can start cranking on the rams. If you want more you can flash to modded bios to gain more from your system. Post any updates so that we can help you. Welcome to the Darkside.. brows.gif
