if ya follow it exactly like the guide, it won;t work...i've tried shading the resistor or watever it is wif a few stroke using a 2b pencil but nothing happens...then i tried 10-20 strokes only 0.05v increment then when i cover the whole thing with led it's slightly higher than wat i wanted (2.1v max) and i hafto repeat the process for quite a lot of times b4 i manage to tweak it according to wat i wanted
*
so, could you show me how do you pencil it? izzit pencil the whole resistor or just around the side of it? notworthy.gif

i've experience that disable APIC will give you lower performance.

@ Dead__Man

you did the vcore fluctuation pencil trick, right? i just wonder that have you faced the problem that cant get over 1.85v after doing the trick? because once I set the vcore over 1.85v, the mobo cant boot and the beep sound will be heard.

@ cubchai

yes, disable APIC will give more fsb. But for my case, the extra 3mhz fsb cant cover back the lower bandwidth.

y sad...mantarays is the best oc bios...
even vcore can go til 2.05v still can boot sweat.gif
*
that's nothing with the bios, psu is the main reason. before i'm using enlight 350w, once i set vcore to 2.0v, the pc must automatic shutdown. but since change to acbel 450w, i can get more than that.

QUOTE(kelvin_hata @ Aug 4 2005, 11:03 PM)
max i get is 265++ 270 can boot n login winxp but 4-5 min mouse start hang...then keyboard...but the pc still on...winamp still playing mp3...tat the funny thing laugh.gif
*
yes, i faced it before. this problem occure due to the either SB or NB overheating. before adding the heatsink on SB, once the fsb over 248, my mouse n keyboard will hang but the mp3 still playing. but since adding heatsink on SB, this problem can overcome. smile.gif

QUOTE(cubchai @ Aug 4 2005, 11:07 PM)
one of the reason i like this bios is the L12 mod. someone suggested me to use 1T. not sure wat's the difference.
*
1T give more bandwidth score whereas 2T give more fsb since it's come with some loosing setting.

one question here,

actually how do i know the L12 wire mod is success? izzit i clear the bios, and mobile detected as 166fsb ? coz normally is 100fsb?

i'm using trats d27 mod. bios now, i dunno this bios got soft L12 mod or not, but when i load optimal in bios, it set to 166fsb.

load optimal in bios got 166fsb .... is 50% success tongue.gif da most easy to detect .... if u can pass 240+ without doin wire mod that means soft L12 mod is inside dat bios smile.gif
-
cons
nothing beats wire mod L12 tongue.gif those soft L12 won't go as high FSBs as the hard 1 smile.gif
*
nono... i mean...
i already did the L12 wire mod, but i dunno it success or not....
i just load the optimal in bios, and i got 166fsb, so does it mean I success? maybe it's due to the soft L12 mod.... coz i dunno for the soft mod, izzit also same when load the optimal in bios also got 166fsb.

my old bh5 cant get higher fsb with 2T...

252 @ 2-2-2-11, 1T is the highest and stable i could get but with 2T, 253 @ 2-2-2-11 will give errors in memtest#86.

guy73,

try tictac d26 xt or trats d27, those can get high fsb easily.

i did the vdd pencil trick (2.0v, measure with multimeter) but it seem does not give any overclocking improvement.

With some mod. bios like D27 3D fire, you have to softmod the L12 in order to get higher fsb.
