SE is sticking with snapdragon and hopefully this device will get the new snapdragon chip with the latest adreno. That chip is capable to perform up to 80 mil triangle per second. Almost as good as hummingbird+powerVR so it would be great for gaming i guess. And Sony hopefully would release great awesome games!!!

developers would end up making a overlay virtual keyboard since other android phones dosent have that dedicated keyboard.. hehe.. but that would unlikely be since surely those games are purchasable for this specific device only. It would lead to piracy for sure

A snapdragon + a separate GPU would be better (the current PSP GPU)
And if there is to be a PSP game like God of War on it.... i dun Sony will let other phone developers have their technology share over to it.

Well, unless they are going to create it on another platform, say an SE specific OS, i doubt they would prevent others from sharing.

More important to me is how long will the battery life, if the phone's main attaction point is gaming. Not many is gonna be satisfied if its just 2 - 3 hours of gaming

why they put in the gamepad instead of a qwerty keyboard?

i would be guessing the physical gaming control would not be in the final device.. it was a mock up pic after all.. the phone would surely have a great CPU n GPU for sure. Surely not the current 1ghz snapdragon which is currently in the market

On the software side, it looks like the device will be running Gingerbread  (Android 3.0) with a phone-specific skin, and there will be a new area of the Android Market specifically for the games. That content will be initially accessible only by the halo device, but from the sounds of things, these titles might be made available to other Android phones if their specs and button layouts meet requirements. Games will be graphically in the range of PSX or PSP games, meaning true 3D gaming is headed to Android. Titles currently being shown off seem to be focused around some older PSX as well as new PSP offerings, with God of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and LittleBigPlanet possibly on tap, and future plans for titles which incorporate augmented reality features.

the specs seems ok but frm my understanding it seem to not be the PSP2 but is a different thing. So this will be a PSP1 with Android OS????? Guess we will still have to wait and see.

Well the current PSP battery performance is quite well, i can go on gaming for at least 5hrs+ with the volume high and screen brightness Max. But when it combines with a 3G and phone things in it... i have no idea how fast are they gonna consume.

if u google up, u'll notice that mortal kombat (?) dev said something about the PSP2 being more powerful. With that said, it is quite obvious that the hardware is newer and better than current gen psp.

this thing might not appeal pure smartphone lovers but to the legions of Playstation follower, this is definitely something big.

so in this latest post frm Kotaku.... this is not the PSP2 and the pad in the middle of the thing is a new trackpad which will serve as Analog Stick.

But i am worry about it not as the PSP2. If this is PSP1 then it will have only 1 year life left after that is all PSP2 games... PSP1 will be left to eat dust and this phone will be just another rubbish frm Sony as well.... i dun want another PHAIL X10!

on page 2 i already mention the pad in the middle there is some sort of new trackpad which can serve as the analog.

i think tat little hole is like the blackberry and also some of those HTC phone.... Optical trackpad.

still, this PSP phone looks like the combination of Sony two failed product, the PSP GO and Xperia X10. both sucks.

But there are still market for ppl who really want their phone to be bad arse. I personally wont mind. I would like to play MGS while waiting for a client just that they need to make the game more easy to safe not having u travel certain distance for a save file.

It has to be able to play some really good games if it's marketing it as a PSPhone hybrid... now even normal games on smart phones kill the battery that fast, I wonder how long you can actually play with this little phone that's smaller than the typical PSP...

And also, the optical trackpad sucks, it doesn't feel as real and as good as an analog stick

There's a report over at Engadget that has the entire Internet in an uproar. It's related to Sony's PlayStation Phone, a project the industry giant apparently has underway and according to several reliable resources the device is real. The initial report even had a round of images of the PlayStation Phone, along with supposed specs that consist of "1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and a screen between 3.7 and 4.1 inches."

At the moment, Sony is still keeping a tight lid on the official scoop (hm, well, the lid wasn't 'tight' enough apparently). The company repeatedly offers the follow statement: "We do not comment on rumour and speculation."

Anyway, the phone presumably carries the codename 'Zeus' and was reportedly running Android 2.X, not the 3.0, which is said to be on the final device.

Oh and the folks at Engadget added: "We're not saying that because we want to believe or because we're gingerly trying to nab pageviews: we're saying it because we know it to be true. This is a device which has been confirmed through multiple, trusted sources."

worth or not, it depends on individual, even with limited budget...
lets wait and see how the phone really performs before we can judge..
an IP4 with that price tag, still lots of buyers... and its just an iOS...
Android with PSX should be more worthwhile i think...
