The Samsung Galaxy S blitz has barely gotten off the ground around the world and yet Russian website Itrans (translated) is saying they have the first pictures of its alleged successor. While we wait for our Vibrant, Fascinate, Epic 4G, and Captivate handsets to arrive, the rumor mill sees no reason in sitting back. According to Itrans, the i9200 Galaxy S 2 will arrive early 2011 with some high end hardware.

2 GHz processor
32 GB of internal memory, a slot for MicroSD memory cards up to 32 GB
1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM

A-GPS, Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor
Google Service (Android Market, Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, YouTube)
Based on the specs and suggested release, it's safe to assume this would be running Android 3.0/Gingerbread. It's hard to imagine this phone coming down the pipeline as quickly as the rumor suggests, but crazier things have happened.

Most of the time, when a "GOD-like" new phone rumor-ly came out, in the end it will just be someone's fantasy, or maybe there's a huge drop in Hardware spec even if it got released... so well..

4.3 inch screen? Yikes!

Just out of interest, how do all the Galaxy and other big-screen phone owners bring their high-end toys around? I tried sticking a Sony X10 down my front pocket and it just looked...err...obscene!

To me the Iphone's 3.5 inch screen is just about the limit for pocketability and that's definitely not with any snug clothing. It was one of the main reasons why I went for a Wildfire instead of the Desire.

Can I assume that there are quite a few forumers walking around with the "happy-to-see-you" err....bulges in their pants?

yeah... 4.0 inches, well even 3.7 inches is just nice... probably the sweet spot

for me 4.3 is just too big for a phone...

the only 2GHz one i heard of that is gonna be out, is the dual core 1GHz, which i guess means 2GHz, but no launch date yet, and not 100% confirmed as well, juz sed to be in development.. hopefully we will be able to see the 1st 2GHz processor for fones next year, but most likely oso mid to late 2011 oni, so still got long way to go, but by the rate fones are growing nowadays, especially android fones, i wont be surprised if i see it earlier.

End of this year or even early next year is a bit too soon. They will be killing the sales of galaxy s. Probably announcement by year end, then availability mid next year. That should give the sgs a one year life span.

2G processor was introduce 1 yr ago, but still no one dare to try it . hope it can overcome the over heating problem.

We must remember that to make a phone requires more than just the processor (altho that is the most important part), there is also other thing to consider for manufacturers ie battery life, heat, UI etc. Making all thes things work together is important to make a complete and compelling product. From a business point of view, they also need to recoup what they have spent on R&D in current phones. I know that Samsung spends millions on R&D and will unlikely to have the SGS eclipsed by a better model so soon. The way I look at it the "monster" phone will be out earliest middle of 2011, most likely end of 2011.

completely agree with u.. no way they wud release such a fone so early in the year when the galaxy S is doing so well.. its juz gonna eat into the sales of the Galaxy S.
