I'm still deciding on my first Android and SGS deeply caught my attention.
Problem is, I was let down by the lack of flash for the camera and the so-called GPS problem.
How do you guys cope with low light or night shot?
Is the GPS problem happens even with official FW?
How about quality apps? Is the numbers satisfactory?
Just sharing my 2 cents worth....
Actually no phone is perfect. Even Iphone 4 has several problems including critical ones like antenna problem, etc.
Can you imagine...antenna problem for a phone is unforgiveable!!!
Besides their so called Facetime is not true video call because it can only be used over Wifi and not on 3G...a real handicap if you ask me...
Honestly, camera on phones are there for occasional use and it will never never be able to compare to a proper digital camera or DSLR. SGS camera is good enough for me..the picture is sharp and the HD video recording is fantastic for a phone....the video recording is even sharper and focus faster than my video recording function of my Nikon DSLR.
For me GPS on the phone is good to have but honestly, I will seldom use it for navigation on a daily basis. My car has a proper built-in GPS navigation or nowadays a proper Garmin GPS is just a few hundred RM.....unlikely we will use our SGS for navigation in the car on a daily basis coz it will probably drain a lot of battery.....
Android applications may be less than Iphone apps (for now) but the numbers are definately rising fast because it is an open platform....there are many free applications on the Market which is good enough for me at the moment...
Well, it depends what you are looking for in the phone....if you plan to use GPS daily with your phone or you need to take a lot of photos at night, then perhaps you might want to consider some other smart phones out there...
Happy hunting...shopping for phone is as fun as owning one
