2.8 - ?

3.0 - Gingerbread

Why there are only small number of OS version for each 1.x and 2.x? Why not continue with 2.3 until 2.9 first?
Or maybe it shows huge performance increasing from each batch??
Who knows? Only Google's insider know..

If i'm not mistaken.. samsung already released update for 2.2 for SGS right?
Correct me if i'm wrong..

As what I heard from a lot of sources, Android 3.0 will only applicable to any Android tablet after this while Gingerbread or 2.3 is their upcoming OS update for smartphone after Froyo completely unleashed..
