The techinician at the service centre adviced me not to stick those stuff because it will increase wind/road noise. Will wait for it to become worse before i remedy it.

Puspakom will at most take u 1 morning only.. then JPJ in 1 day. If pay kopi money, JPJ even faster!!  rclxms.gif
So, u should get it in 2 days... unless another screw up somewhere...... The AP should be here already.

Yes, if you do any mods at Exotic mods, just service your car at FA Wagen (Jln 222) and say that you got the mods from Exotic Mods. Warranty will still be in place.

But most ECU remaps are undetectable anyway. I am planning on the APR one as well, rather go straight to APR instead then ask the SA to do it tongue.gif
*
hi Mavik,

i tought ECU remap will be easy to detect if we go to servicing at Volkswagen. that is why some perfer go for stage 1 easy plug and play solution like ventura chip tuning. unplug it when you go to software update or servicing , then plug it back after serviced. (only 3 cable connection anyway)

http://www.venturatuning.nl/merken/chiptun...-tsi-105pk.html

i do see some feedback from vagsg forum that if you happend to go service at volkswagen and get a software update, it will erase your ECU remaps, then u need to go the mod shop and redo mapping again. but i do agree that custom ecu remap will give you more tune compare with chip tuning. IMHO blush.gif

yeah. but how come the rear passengers can open it as well.... ?
or it can be set somewhere?
*
hi bbchua,

ya i experience that in my polo as well. i saw something in the manual that can set it to deadlocking something.. not yet to explore more on that..
as i use to jap and koren car, whereby each of the door have individual lock switch. But in our POLO (not sure in golf or scirooco ), all the doors dont have any lock switch....maybe is VW conti car design in such a way.
i tried it while i driving, which the central locking engage, and from inside, my friend sit at the back can open the door .. scary... cry.gif

oh btw, second day drive experience opinion .. maybe some pro will know more. still enjoying the ride!!!

RTFM guys, just press lock on your vehicle key once to activate the deadlock, then u cant open from inside anymore

The default is deadlock OFF because its dangerous if you have a accident, as its more difficult for rescuers to open the door, of if the driver is unconscious then your passengers cant get out

you got friends with death wish ar? open doors while vehicle is in motion...  hmm.gif

anyway get used to it, its a Conti thing...you have moved up in the world, not driving jap anymore  rclxms.gif
*
AHAHHAHA not death wish lah. testing testing lah. still exploring the car.. but yesterday night hand itchy and to fix a taiwan make DRL to my POLO. modify it to mount (using glue gun) at the POLO sportlight possition. (too bad, i no money to buy the sport lights..as you know, polo in malaysia is without front fog light.. and i do hear news that if want to install, need to buy the fog light + change the lighting switch as well. add up all a least around 1.5K estimated... doh.gif

Folks,

Seriously need your advice on VW deliverables, esp all Polo owners who are already enjoying their new vehicle.

I have my booking on 23rd OCT, Polo 1.2 tsi (WHITE), untill today the cowboy SA have NO idea where my car is!!
The same story I heard that the car is still in Port, pending clerance, checking, blar blar ...  rclxub.gif

Btw, I booked it from FA Jln222. Now has escalated to their branch Mgr, and his last promise is next Friday.  doh.gif
Pls let me know if this delivery timeframe is reasonable, or I should cancel my booking.  icon_question.gif
*
hi stevencbk,

i am not sure on FA Jln 222, but i got mine from TTDI. yes, my car also delayed for 2 - 3 weeks as promised from the TTDI but finally got the polo on wednesday. as i know , all the POLO is being cleared from the port liao (if not mistaken, at lease at TTDI showroom, i saw around 8-10 polos line up for inspection, pickup). if your car is not in ur dealer showroom, then god bless you. for my case, the car arrive at TTDI showroom on last Saturday, then monday-tuesday to do JPJ , puspacom inspection. Wednesday get road tax and receive my car.
better check with ur COW SA.. shouldnt cancel ur booking as this is a fantastic car !! cheers!!!

BTY, did your SA give u the car chassis number liao?

if you are not a hardcore driver i guess even 7500km is okay.. the manual recommends every 15k right
you could check the oil level yourself

around 1-1.5k you can rev a little bit more, after 1.5k you can go all the way

btw, the polo 1.2 is pretty fast ! last time i thought it could only match a civic 1.8, but even bmw 320i struggles to keep up
http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/show...r-than-Polo-1.2

even my mk5 struggle to keep on nkve in heavy ish traffic last time.

phas3r,

wahahah you leave a msg in bmw forum to be aware of polo GTI? you scary man!!! notworthy.gif

Mapen,
i am one of them. free 16GB wifi Ipad from TTDI. i also ask the SE some free gift such like key chain and umbrella. this is becos the se count wrongly my downpayment and i need to go back and top up another RM600. since i calculated myself is true that shortchange of 600, and i dont wish the SE to pay from herself, thus i get extra freebie lor.... cool2.gif

Not yet. Prob will get mine nex wik.the waiting is killing me. U got urs already ka?

Anyway,i actually dun mind any kind of stereo as long as it can plug in usb and aux. Bonus would be iphone compatible and also bluetooth.

I was asking around acc shop and mos of them said they can put in mos of audio unit around (sony, kenwood, pioneer etc). Jus need the casing(dey said can use the golf one. Polo one not available yet) and mos of them r confident that they will not interfere any wiring other than the audio ones and they are just tapping for the wire(really doubt it tho). If anything happen, they can jus put in the original back in place.

One of the shop offer was really tempting. Jvc head unit (2xusb,bluetooth,iphone compatible, aux) for 550 + casing 250. Total is 800 only.

But will not have the kool "welcome to volkswagen" thingy.

So what do u think???or u still eyeing for the rcd 510???
*
Mapen,

i also shopping around but all the (sony, kenwood , pioneer, jvc) will not able to connect to your MFD and the stering control. thus the RCD still a safer choice.. there are after market RCD like HU e.g. flyaudio , witsun,etc... that they claims OEM to most car vendor, but hear a lot of negative feedback from vagsg forumer. those are cheaper compare to RCD but i think the quality is not there yet..
IMHO.. correct me if i am wrong . blush.gif

Agreed go for DRL! Seen one Polo with DRL also at Cergaz.

at cergaz saw a polo with DRL? is it silver color? if yes, then is me smile.gif
so happend to come across the DRL light ( is not design for polo VW, i think is for mitsubishi car or something?) that cost me around RM230 + installation..
what happend is 2-3 hours of cutting the plastick cover to custom fit in (glue gun). so far the DRL set looks good for me. not a super fit job but i think is decent enuf with such small amount of money i invest. rclxms.gif

cheers.

Yep the silver one. Saw it from far, looks nice. Makes the Polo stands out from the crowd. You have a separate control switch for it I assume?

Saw another red Polo that day, front bumper pretty damaged until it drops out. So sad to see it.
*
hi Mikelee,

the installer hook it up to my switch box with follow ignition. aka no seperate control switch for it. thus i also affraid if vw found out, it will void the warranty.. but too late any way.. tongue.gif
will find free times to take a picture and post it up. now the next minor project is to change the diamond version H7 lights. then go to source some Remus exhaust, state 1 via external tunning box (ventural or TMC) , then call it a day liao..
walan. hope my bonus come in. if not, everything will be on hold sweat.gif

below is the picture took via my handphone.

btw any polo owner here mind to share their fuel efficiency?  biggrin.gif

Added on December 22, 2010, 2:32 pmbtw,my polo automatically turn off the light in meter gauge when i enter dark place like carpark in shopping centre and turn back  on when i exit the carpark. Is this normal? If so,why does it do that? lol

around 230 the damage for set of DRL and the installation (of cause i also involve in the installation of cutting bumper).
my average fuel is around 520KM per tank. 70% city , sometimes damn "dulan" and press hard on the pedal also.
