how does a diet plan work out if you work on shifts ?
im on night shifts (12AM-12PM) and meals are provided 11PM (dinner), 6AM (breakfast) and 12 PM (Lunch) ... i always end up super hungry by the time its noon even though on normal days i only eat very little for dinner

Average healthy weight loss is only 1-3kgs per month.
If you are looking at 5-7kg per 1-2 weeks, which is 10-14kg per month...then, it would be a very drastic weight drop. Not good for the body and hard for you to maintain it for long term and also keeping it off forever.

To lose weight, requires changes in eating habits. What's your eating habits like?

The timing like night shift, it is hard to control the diet plan. Because sleeping time is already affected too. Unless you do work out...

if i semangat then i try to wake up about 9PM and have about 30-60 mins run before i start work .. cos by the time i finish work its like 1-2PM already, no time to run after that .. i work 12AM - 12PM shifts sleep.gif

Problem is .. im usually not that hungry for breakfast at 6AM, but by the time its 12PM super hungry .. but eat then straight away sleep ?? die lor ...

great advice friend.. suggest me a brand.. lipton?

phew.. after a week (5 day straight) doing my HIIT*, it seem my leg still cant cope with my body weight.. cant push a round more.. 4 round is the max i can do now.. thats about 2km i think..

my HIIT* = i jog til i run out of breath@max heart beat then i walk til my heart beat drop slow.. 1 round i can get 4-6 repetition.. all 4 near 1 hour..

is it consider exercise?? cost i sweat a lot i can say.. wet my shirt out, i'm wearing a sweater to rise trap the heat and make me sweat more.. any negative effect of this??
*
my 2 cents - Lipton green tea (the teabag) taste wierd ... Japanese green tea is much better .. my favourite till now ..OSK new family tea bag .. i think its like RM20 per box but tastes way better than lipton .. Nishio brand aso not bad

wahh .. you can HIIT for 1 hour ? hebat.. for me 20 mins and i feel like want to die di ..

Smack those 'few people' for me will ya?

You're hungry, you're definitely going to eat something. I'll simplify it.
1 calorie from an apple is not equal to 1 calorie from nasi lemak. If you're eating fruits and vegetables instead of burgers, I don't think it's going to make you fat as compared to just eating burgers.

>.<
I got confused, cos apparently cucumber was on the OK list, and carrots were not .. banana and watermelon is a big no no ....

Struggling to manage my diet now .. I used to go low carb, but no carbs + medication gives me the wildest mood swings sweat.gif
Meals now mostly large portion of fresh veggies, some form of meat ... If I'm eating carbs, which is better - baked potato or bread ? Havent touched rice for 6 weeks so far ....

Snack on fruit or cucumber, sometimes biscuits (i have a huge problem with biscuits) ... if i really keep feeling hungry then a hard boiled egg

how many eggs can i eat in a day ?

I dont see why bananas are a big no no, they are a good instant energy source actually.
As for the biscuits, TRY your best to avoid them, but if u really are having a hard problem, buy those oat or high fibre biscuits, they're lower in sugar.
Cant answer how many eggs coz I dont even know what your daily routines are like. Are u working, do u workout often?
*
she told me not to eat banana ... and if want to eat i shouldnt eat more than half (what to do with the other half leh?)
im working, either 8-6 when im in the office, or 12-12 when im in the field ..
workout is limited to running, something like 5-8K daily and weights 2-3 times a week

i don't eat hard boiled egg yolk if that counts ...

Are we supposed to eat lots of egg white while strength training? and btw, I'm trying to lose weight, do i even DO strength training?
And also, cardio, is it intervals of high speed and low speed or what?
*
I dont know about eating egg white ...but i'd imagine even if you want to lose weight you should still be doing strength training .. or else you'll just be skinny fat >.<

I do cardio intervals when i either have no mood to go for a long run or i don't have the time to spare for a long run
I run/walk on the treadmill ... 1 min 5, 1 min 16 ... after 15-20 mins see stars di .. haha

So there IS interval training. My friend said that if i were to burst and then slow it down a bit after that, I'm making the fat harder to get rid of.
And guys, apart from strength training and cardio, any other weight loss tips? I hate diets. Not because of the quantity, but because of the taste.
*
well actually i found interval training quite effective in dropping weight, but maybe its not the same for everyone ?

and i dont diet ... because putting yourself on a strict diet isnt sustainable long term for me .. can tahan for about 2-3 weeks (longest was 1 month) then i cave and eat EVERYTHING in sight

better to just watch your diet, make small changes .... brown bread for white bread, brown rice for white rice ... then maybe less rice, more veggies ... for me, diet doenst mean salad everyday, watch your intake of fried foods and sweets ... i have a sweet tooth, so if i really want that cookie i'll eat it ... just put in extra work out time for that week ... don't know if its effective, but its better than not eating bread/pastry for a whole month then eat like 2 muffins at one go sweat.gif

you need to find out what works for you lor ... just cut down one thing at a time ... i started with coffee ^.^

Haha, talking bout pants. I have a pair of pants from years back that I use to gauge myself rather than the weight scale. When I struggle to fit, it's time to drop a few pounds. Pants and mirror, that's my weapon of choice.
*
i dont think i'll ever manage to fit back into my jeans from 2004, i was pretty skinny then sweat.gif
its still sitting in my closet .. just waiting for that day ............

all that cardio, but my hips don't seem to be shrinking DAMN
