Hi All,

YES! I am into this topic now. I am a mother of three and you can imagine my size after having to pregnant and deliver for 3 times sad.gif (my youngest is only 7 months old now).

I can't be on any form of crash diet since I am still breastfeeding my baby and hence can't afford to compromise my health-being. However, I am glad to share that even with a healthy and balance diet, I managed to lose all my fat and am weight even lighter than b4 i preg with my youngest one. I was 58kg before preg and am 56 kg now (height 171cm)

A piece of advice from me, NEVER starve yourself for the sake of slimming down. Not only that you are compromising your health, your result will not last too. My experience tells me that if you were to starve yourself, you are not losing your fat...you are losing your muscle instead. So once you start eating again, you will see your weight shooting sky high and that's when you feel discourage and giving up on yourself entirely.

Focus on how to build up your metabolism is the way to go.

I have just started a new blog on this topic (www.amibig.com). Hope you can come by to have a look and give me your comment. Thanks!

Guys , Hope I can get some advise and tips here.

How come I can get smaller but my weight doesn't drop that much ??

I used to wear size 42 but now I'm wearing size 38 but my weight stayed almost the same which is around 95 to 100kg , my height is around 175-180.

My work out plan is

15mins of Cross Trainer
30-45 mins of intense treadmill
30-45 mins of doing weights .

My arms got toned abit but my tummy still round .

Diet still undecided but I avoid sugar / carbs.

Any tips to lose the round tummy ?

Dear Ghoss,

First, I want to congratulate you. You are on the right track.

You are visually slimmer but your weight is not dropping simply because you are converting your fat to muscle. 1kg of fat = 1kg of muscle and that's why you don't see your weight improving. HOWEVER, muscle eventually feed on your fat to continue growing. So, when that times come, I guarantee you that you will see your weight dropping real fast smile.gif

U can't completely avoid carbs. it is important that you have balance diet so that your health will not be compromised. Try just cut your carbs intake at night and take as usual for your lunch. If you are doing exercises, don't forget to take foods that are rich in protein. Protein is needed for building up your muscle. Remember, muscle feed on fat and the more muscle mass you have, the lower the body fat % would be.

Good luck.

You can check up my blog www.amibig.com, which aim to promote healthy diet. Cheers

body fat analyzer? how much did u get that one for..

btw i stopped by mag store and read men's health august...
it stated that one way to burn fat faster.. when u do ur usual gym and dieting and exercise.. do have a cheat day once a while to eat as normal (not binge) to maintain ur leptin level.

argument stated that once ur body used to negative balance. then long term it will slow down fat metabolism therefore ur fat losing regime will not work so great.. logical as body protective effect on long term starvation i guess???

BINGO! Zedtat, you are so right abt the way metabolism work. When you starve yourself, you are telling your body that you are on a crash diet and your body will then HOLD ON to your fat, REDUCE your metabolism rate, just to make sure it can still function without further food intake. So, if you do lose your pound, likely you are losing your muscle and not your fat. Hence, the moment you eat, your pounds return in no time. We really need to know how our body function in order to find an effective diet prog that could help us to shake away the unwanted fat for good

You might need some protein intake to firm up your muscle. However, daily protein intake need to be calculated based on your weight and your exercise pattern, do consult the professional before decide on the vol of intake for the day

CPtan,

I did slim down 4 kg by doing just yoga. But it doesn't work for my friend though. You can try and see how it works for you. If you are not suffering from low blood pressure, try hot yoga.

You might be thinking muscle gain, and I think that's the case. He doesn't do weights, but his cardio is all lower body intensive. So despite the fact that he doesn't do weights, his cardio is making his lower body to do all the resistance work and that might prompt muscle gain. I've friends who have never done a single squat (Weight training terms) in their life, but their legs are all lean and muscular because they get their weekly fix of football.

Matter of fact, our weight reading show on the weighing scale is not 100% representative 100% on our shape and health level.

Body builders are heavy, but most of their weight comes from muscle, not fat! Someone who is light may be full of body fat with little muscle.

There are far more important numbers we should be focus on: - muscle mass, water %, metabolism rate/age, bone mass, body fat %..etc. If you really want to know your body well, go to get a scan. These numbers can be easily obtain with an advance body scan machine. These machines often are available in gym center as well.
