Guys, just wanted to know if its effective to burn fat using exercise striders? Been using it for a month+ now by making myself to stride on it for 1 hour or 30 minutes daily.

QUOTE(badutman @ Nov 19 2010, 10:46 AM) After ur month+ with strider, how do u c urself, any +ve changes? IMHO, if u stride 90m on lowest resistance n lowest speed, i doubt there's high percentages of fat burning. instead, u may exercise on fat burning mode, or, furthermore, u may include tabata or HIIT method in ur WO. Yep, there are some +ve changes; lost some fats on the thigh and some other areas, though it is little. I don't know i stride in wad speed as the meter is spoiled (old exercise machine). I did try tabata method, but only 1~2 sets. What is fat burning mode? Mind to elaborate?

QUOTE(badutman @ Nov 19 2010, 03:17 PM) Exosinnerz, firstly congrats on ur little-fat lost normally on exercise machine stated 'fat burn' which is around 65% of ur heart rate, while interval aims for 80-90% heart rate. for example, if ur age is 32-years-young, ur BPM = 220 - 32 = 188. 65% of 190 is 122 (round up) and 90% of 188 is 169. some ppl do take into consideration on stride per minutes, heart etc etc. but given the meter is spoiled, u hv no other choice but to ditch above calculation (unless u want to buy heart rate meter gadget). just tabata on strider as long as u can while my knowledge might not accurate, u may google up for deeper understanding. Thanks! Im just a 19 year old college student and near the end of my semester so im going to take it easy since im not in a rush to be fit ASAP, for now . Will google up later.
