Because creepers will destroy other people's hardwork, and basically all stuff in the MC world except Obsidian are destructible.
Not good for a "free to build" community. So until one day we can find a good solution on how to address the Creepers problem, I think Selipar will be putting HIS server under peaceful difficulty.
