Anyways, ignoring the troll, these cards do perform well. And well suited to be entry level soundcards for SOUND.

haha... i did listened to one of my friend's friend using asus stx mod all opamps to burson and RM6000 crystal XO...

hmmm.... ASUS IS NOT ANYTHING SPECIAL...
NO MATTER HOW, IT WILL NOT TURN AN EVIL TO AN ANGEL. smile.gif  smile.gif  smile.gif

I GUESS HD2 IS GOOD ENUFF TO SAVE UR POCKET..
*
is there any card can turn evil to angel? dont joke la.. perharps i can suggest u listen or playing with hymns? I belive it bring u to God. Asus xonar stx overall is better than hd2 where i audit b4..in term gaming, asus more feature and my hd2 got compatible with some game (bsod) and cant use mic. doh.gif HD2 did better after changing the op. if really no budget and only concern about sound/music, ts can suggest try hd2 coz there are alot good review and i had point out it weakness as well..onkyo card maybe ts can risk urself and give us some review on it? blush.gif

my opinion is that the most important part of your audio is the source itself.. and when you have that the rest of your equipment sounds as good as the bad link.. hope you guys know what i am talking about.. cheers...

Esi juli@ hard to find..ST is too $$..and tat Onkyo SE-200PCI also not worth for tat price.. Onkyo SE-90PCI maybe can try hunt for it but it level should be on par with hd2. but remember that ur song sources must be good as well ur speaker..

this guy know shit about music..... but just shit.

Difference of STX and ST is completely SAME!
STX has more jitter because their IC native is pci interface, but they use a bridge converter to PCI-E.

Onkyo and asus is still using cheap clocks.
*
Stop trolling, you are the only one who know nothing about Xonar cards. ST have CS2000 jitter reducer chip on the card, the crystal clock is still the same, not just the PCI to PCIe bridge.

LOL.... THERE IS AN ANGEL... MERGING TECHNOLOGY Mykerinos-X.. WHICH I HEARD B4 WITH DAD AX24 REALLY BLEW ME UP.

MAY B ASUS DID PERFORM IN GAMING, BUT IN MUSIC IT IS STILL SOUND VERY DIGITAL EVEN MODED LOT.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND PPL TO SPEND MONEY ON INTERNAL SOUND CARD FOR ANALOG OUTPUT.
A COMPUTER MERELY CAN PERFORM WELL IN DIGITAL OUTPUT.

IF U WANNA SOMETHING REALLY MEANT FOR MUSIC THEN U MUST NEED A DAC, CHEAPEST SOLUTION IS USB DAC.
ALSO MORE FUN CAN BE OBTAIN FROM IT..

maybe you can try the WDM driver for via24 for windows7 .. probably the audiotrak's driver not really stable for windows7? i own a via24 controller soundcard as well and the new wdm driver (5.40f) is pretty stable so far (mine used to crash and BSOD like mad)

TS,did u plan to get a pair of speakers?
Otherwise u could go for dac/amp.
The Asus Xonar ST would be good.

if u are into headphone, then perhaps dac/amp will suit you better.
yea, something like that in the pictures above.
or perhaps, you could spend the money you would spend on sc on another pair of headphone.
