SSD is more durable than HDD.HDD uses moving platters,
SSD using chip only

Erm about photoshop,
it is depends on your processing speed and ram availability. A sifu once said 12GB ram is not enough for him to merge 14 5DMark2 21MP RAW File. Considering 40MB each photo. But then opening your file to PS is depends on your HDD/SSD because you are loading it |

Ah, the Intel write speed 100MB/S is good enough already.
The vertex 2 / F series stated 200MB++ those speed kinda hard to reach also. |

QUOTE(Suk @ Feb 21 2011, 01:56 PM) Spec to spec wise its stated Slower in write speed. But you think even Intel with 70/100 MB/S write speed we can utilise also ? How often you write file into ur SSD ? Plus you need another SSD which could do the same output only will reach such speed. |

Install any program that consume less space on your SSD will do.
Its not like you want to store 10 latest game on a SSD right ? |

QUOTE(raist86 @ Mar 20 2011, 12:09 AM) Just want to check.. kingston sv100-s2 is 250mb/s read and 230mb/s write? Cos i check online sources it's much much lower... Typo error by pc zone or what? Get intel then Was in Lowyat today so thought of getting a SSD.... but in the end couldn't make up my mind on OCZ Vertex 2 120gb or Corsair Force 120 or take 2 kingston 64 and raid 0 them up.. OCZ all come in E flavors.. 25nm chip with all the drawbacks... Corsair... ppl are saying about firmware issues.. (don't know how true it is).. Kingston.. well.. it's slower... and with 2 device on raid... twice the chance of things going wrong.. especially with raid 0. very very confused.. lol.. Budget about RM 750 to spend... so want to get the best option available.. U wun go wrong with intel wan. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Mar 21 2011, 08:32 PM) Same price, double density ICs, i.e. same problem with the 25nm issue that hits the Vertex 25nm versions. I don't think the write speed for G2 is a problem, The speeds on them will be half of what they are for the G2 case. unless you got another drive can do 200MB/s write speed then your 2xxMB/s write speed SSD will be utilised else Intel G2 and other brand SSD having 2xxMB/s read speed is more than enough. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Mar 22 2011, 03:30 PM) I was saying that comparing the 310 with the G2 series, the speeds might degrade due to less memory channels used. Oh cheh thought u say other model Sequential throughput is not very important once it reaches a certain limit, say 100MB/s, but the random reads and writes will certainly be affected no? the sequential read/write isn't that important but if you do very large file transferring. random reads / writes speed should be the crucial one. |

Mind you again those drive sequential write speed couldn't achieve it self. you are required another drive who can do that kind of speed to utilise the write speed.
ie. you using 200MB/S write speed SSD write into another 200MB/S write speed SSD |
