How long does a SSD life span? longer or shorter than a HHD?

why intel ssd selling so exp while its r/w speed is slower compare to others brand such as corsair/ocz which have better r/w speed n lower price?

How to check the firmware on X25-M G2 80GB SSD?

i just bought intel 120 gb ssd at RM 730  ..never notice owikh sell 160gb 1 at RM750 only gues my weak never doing homework before buy it..
havent update the firmware but realy satisfied with the performance,boot time super faster,cod mw2 feel like no loading at all..haha very nice..

Still waiting for those guys who have upgrade the intel firmware for some info. tq

Just want to check.. kingston sv100-s2 is 250mb/s read and 230mb/s write? Cos i check online sources it's much much lower... Typo error by pc zone or what?

Was in Lowyat today so thought of getting a SSD.... but in the end couldn't make up my mind on OCZ Vertex 2 120gb or Corsair Force 120 or take 2 kingston 64 and raid 0 them up..

OCZ all come in E flavors.. 25nm chip with all the drawbacks...
Corsair... ppl are saying about firmware issues.. (don't know how true it is)..
Kingston.. well.. it's slower... and with 2 device on raid... twice the chance of things going wrong.. especially with raid 0.

The speeds on them will be half of what they are for the G2 case.

I was saying that comparing the 310 with the G2 series, the speeds might degrade due to less memory channels used.
Sequential throughput is not very important once it reaches a certain limit, say 100MB/s, but the random reads and writes will certainly be affected no?
