So SATA3 is not recommended since it slows down VGA performance via the PCIexpress ?
*
not necessarily, its not like it uses 16 lanes for ssd!! are your running 4 way sli btw??? whistling.gif

doesn't the SATA3 controller hops through the pci-e bus on its way to the CPU and is limited to 500Mbps? Certain intel mobos only though

sos from PCGamer
*
yes i does.. but it all depends on your mobo pcie lanes. if u running your ssd through sata 3 then u can put your gc in the second pcie slot if u have another that runs x16. but if u running sli then no choice laaa.. u have to sacrifice.

Hi guys,
What do you guys think? CORSAIR FORCE 3 60GB or OCZ AGILITY 3 60GB? Both priced below RM400. Or do you guys have other suggestions that falls within the price range.
*
both about the same performance.. if i were into sandforce and have a good sata 3 controller i wud go for vertex 3. but in your case i wud go for corsair since it has better return rate over the latter one

What about the Crucial M4 64GB? Is it worth the extra few ringgit?
*
yes even better return rate than corsair and ocz

how about ocz agility 3? I think it is much more affordable.. not much difference in speed tho.. why intel?
*
intel much more stable. statistic speaks for itself. agility 3 is a lil slower with uncompressed data but it is cheaper than vertex 3. 1st of all u must know why u want to use ssd? then only u choose which one suits u

kk, hopefully i can get it by tomorrow smile.gif Normally what should i be aware of when install OS at ssd? i heard that need to off tis tat, so can increase lifespan..
*
dont worry about lifespan laaaa ... read this forum.. they push the ssd's very hard.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...-Vs-34nm/page99

once u have install os can make the optimization from this link..

Thanks for the link. It's really helpful smile.gif

Are those steps to be followed in order OR?
*
not necessarily in order. but the top ones more important than the lower ones. there is also one setting which only apply to intel ssd. read carefully. in fact u dont have to do all settings. just the few 1st ones are enough already

just got myself an ssd after a long long time playing the wait for price drop lol.

Anyhow like most of us we start off with so much optimization & tweaking, it became so ridiculous.

Now, i'm faced with a problem which i dont know if its related to Lan connection or what.

In firefox clicking links via filestube to like filesonic or whatever, it hangs ff for few seconds.

Perhaps its because i've moved the TEMP folder to HDD ?
*
what ssd are u using?

i wanna ask, if i am torrenting, should i direct save those files in my normal hdd instead of ssd? Or is torrenting bad for ssd?
*
u dont want to torrent on your ssd.. just direct those files to your hdd

intel320 160gb  smile.gif

mayb its just ff problem .. since ff doesnt have seperate process like chrome. while waiting for filestube to redirect to other sites it hangs the whole ff.

i shall test it with chrome when i head back.  tongue.gif

Added on November 2, 2011, 1:14 pmBtw, for ssd? Normally wat kind of things should i store in ssd? And what is not good to store in ssd? Is it that all kinds of applications is preferably to store in ssd? How about media files like songs? Sorry very noob here ><
*
actually u can install and store anything on ssd but its pricey laaaa.. better use ssd for something much better than storing or torrenting. anyway u have hdd for storage. heck if u are too rich then i am not stopping you.. tongue.gif

Hi everyone, new to this threat, nice discussion  around here

Just get an OCZ Agility 3 64GB, so far quite happy with the performance....until now when i bench with AS SSD, what my results are 190m/s read & 98m/s write.. all sifu sifu here know why? is'it normal?

or should i use others benchmarking software?

Thanks in advance
*
u using wrong benchmark program. u suppose to use ATTO for agility 3 to get the correct speed

@iaknesnah tested, problem is on firefox. talk about bad memory management even when they said its the best (LOL really?). but as long as they dont use chrome-like separate process, it wont be fixed even til ff 11.

used chrome and the problem didnt happen at all.
*
lol better use chrome then. btw i tried using firefox its ok on my side.. rclxub.gif
