I did not call it "Ultimate", read my post. It was a term coined by the Apple Store Geniuses to identify the max configuration MBAs. You don't have to be sarcastic and add "Extreme Ultimate", when "Ultimate" is already the highest config.

Neither do you have to be crass and troll Edoras either.

Both my new MBA11 and MBA13 are working perfectly. Both set up to connect wirelessly to iTunes Home Share library on my primary Mac Mini, and they connect without fail. Not to mention the Time Capsule Time Machine wireless backup set up as well, works like a charm.

It helps when all your devices are Apple's, they talk to each other flawlessly.

nvm about the game, just a 2nd thought..

btw, how to upgrade through online order? means i need to buy it online? and also, i can upgrade the proc? rclxub.gif

in your opinion, can i upgrade the proc, then use it for a period of time then only upgrade the ram?

but there is no option to upgrade the proc in the 'configure your mac' at online apple store

IF i bought it at a macstudio/machines, can i upgrade it through them? the proc? ram?
*
Upgrading of specs of the MacBook Air is by Apple only, unless you're willing to DIY and risk warranty. If you go through Machines or MacStudio, and ask for specs upgrade, they will go through the same process you have to go through when you do CTO via the Apple website. In the end, because they had to do the same, and there aren't any shortcuts, it is better for you to do the CTO configuration yourself.

yea, i never though of doing it myself.

i was thinking of getting if done after i try out the stock performance.

btw the apple store website doesn't seems to have a processor upgrade choice.  rclxub.gif

Which model are you looking for? 11 or 13 inch? The 11 inch goes up to 1.6Ghz, while the 13 inch goes up to 2.13Ghz on CTO configurations.

the model with 64GB don't have a option to upgrade the proc, only the 128GB have

Ah. You're referring to the 64GB model. http://store.apple.com/my/configure/MC505Z...mco=MTk0MjI1MjY Yup, only the RAM is convigurable to 4GB. Bump up your specs to the 128GB, and that processor option opens up.

Depending on your needs though. I myself am typing this on my 1.4Ghz 128GB SSD model and it's plenty fast. I've used it to do video conversion of TV Shows and it takes as long as the TV show length itself to do the conversion, which is fine by me. I also have Adobe Photoshop CS5, Lightroom 3 and Aperture 3 as well, and they run along nicely on this, so I'd say I'm very happy with mine. Of course, on my other 2,13Ghz 13 inch model, it runs even better, but for a 1,4Ghz C2D model, it's more than enough for my needs. Your call.

My usage:-

3:45hrs - Running iTunes media (movies, Tv Shows, songs) off a external USB powered HDD, brightness halfway, WiFi off, BT off. This is my normal config I have when I'm watching my iTunes media while in the cockpit/cabin.

4hrs - Wifi On, BT ON for 3G tethering, 4 tabs opens on Safari(mixture of Flash- and non-Flash webpages), Tweetdeck open.

5hrs - Wifi On, BT ON for 3G tethering, 4 tabs open on Safari(no Flash webpage), brightness halfway, Tweetdeck open.

7:15hrs - Wifi On, BT off, brightness 1/3 down, 4 tabs open on Safari(no Flash webpage), Twitter open as Twitter.com on one of the Safari tabs.

Infinite - when I'm in Business class, with the MBA plugged into the power socket at the seat, doing everything it is possible to do on it. tongue.gif

Anyone had a problem purchasing the Air 13" using credit card online? And if I get the iWork 2010 pre-installed, how am I going to install it when I reformat?
*
Make sure it's a credit card and not debit cards. They have difficulties processing debit cards that acts like credit cards.

If you buy pre-installed applications, in the event of a reformat, the included Apple Reinstallation USB Flash drive should have a copy of those applications inside it.

No heat. A least not that I know of. I place my Air on table surface not my lap, and even after prolonged usage, it is still cool to the touch.

As for continuous web surfing, check my usage, second from below, in the previous post.

Just a question has anyone who purchased the 11inch version regretted that the better choice is the 13inch?
*
Never! I have both the 11 and 13 inch models. I still use them both. In fact I frequently carry the 11 inch more since it is almost like carrying iPads around.

Zero problem connecting with both my 11 and 13 inch 2010 MBAs. They get connected through a variety of wireless routers, Airport Express, Time Capsule, Dlink and Netgear wireless routers, even 3 different kinds of MiFis.
