An emotional Cesc Fabregas on Sunday told a crowd of 2,500 Barcelona fans in his Catalan hometown: 'I hope to see you more often and closer.'

Fabregas received warm applause in the Placa de l'Esglesia Arenys de Mar as the mayor led a tribute to the Arsenal captain for his part in Spain's 2010 World Cup triumph.

A city policeman remarked that in his 20-year career 'I have never seen the place so full.'

The highlight of the evening was a video of Fabregas, with audio by Coldplay, of the midfielder's career. The biggest applause was saved for footage of Fabregas as a trainee with Barcelona 'when Cesc belonged to us' said the commentary.

As he thanked the crowd Fabregas said: 'I hope to see you more often and closer.'

Arsenal fans you all can sau pei lah......can't wait to see how your gunners collapse next season having a main player whose heart is in elsewhere and by not playing his best, i can see Arsenal not even in the champions league the following season, Man. City as replacement....that would be EPIC.
