yeah, i think they need another garage for the more "pro" users and the thing that I want to see more is apps sharing kind, have lucky draws, challenges, quiz, those kind of things. but its a good start nevertheless.

I attended. It was an HTC marketing event. The HTC product manager, Wayne Tang (or something) was all about Sense which of course did not connect with the non-HTC android audience. It would have been more interesting if he had shared HTC's perspective on the smartphone market, Android's emergence as a dominant player and what they would be doing to tackle the competitive challenges ahead. A little thought leadership/roadmap/direction would have been great instead of the typical product push approach.

And when the MBB rep stepped on stage, I guess everyone just kinda glazed over. Unless MBB had an M2U Android app which doubled up as a lite personal finance manager, there really was no story here worth telling. Mobile websites are so 2000.

The event filler was the emcee going around the floor asking the audience what were their favorite apps. Definitely worthwhile for people new to the platform.

They had a few competitions, the big one being a Wildfire giveaway. The rest were giving out event-branded mugs and tshirts. Not sure if they were giving out anything else.

Swag I managed to get my hands on:
1. Door gift consisted of Android Garage white tshirt, HTC mousepad, pen, Desire and Wildfire brochures and some booklet.
2. Won another tshirt by just snapping QR codes plastered around the place.

I didn't stay for the afternoon track. I believe it was more developer focused.
