Downloaded the whatsapp.apk from page45 (i think) while que-ing at LHDN PJ office. Installation went fine and registration was smooth (register ur number, they send an sms, use sms code to activate), no need to send email bla bla. Happy user of whatsapp now

I think the Maxis in 1U just got stocked with Desire. Checked with them 2wks ago and they didn't have any stock, told me only TTDI ctr had it.

No choice u gotta go AP or stick with Maxis for a year, I was a loyal digi customer for 5yrs but when I heard that digi was not gonna carry Desire, I was very disappointed. The 1 month block was also part of the reason i switched to Maxis. 2 years warranty + a free HTC car charger was quite a good deal I reckon.
But I still do miss Digi. Maxis is a tad overpriced in my opinion and I am looking forward to move back to digi after my 1 year is up with Maxis. Hope that they will have a more competitive smartphone plan when the time comes
Do the calculation and compare which one can save you more $ over the course of 1 year (AP+Digi or Maxis Rm1599 but 1yr contract).

Please be careful with movie players you download. There's a trojan app going around in the form of a movie player app that auto-sends sms to those expensive numbers. They didn't mention the name of the app but just be careful of what you download.

You gotta test them to see which suits you best la. Reading reviews or opinions can only get you so far. A good place to start looking for ROMs would be the legendary XDA forums. Take a look at Modaco's forums too.

In areas where the maxis coverage is not very strong, I've noticed that the line fluctuates between Edge and HSDPA alot. Maxis' problem, nothing much you can do about it I guess. I'll usually just switch to Edge and sacrifice speed in those instances.

can't help you on that bro, I'm on citi air asia card and everything works fine. Did you select Malaysia as the country? e you tried registering again? Make sure that the card number/address/cvv are entered correctly.

There are many talks of different ROMs but no one seem to mention Cyanogen. Looks like a real solid build, will try that out later once I get my homescreens settled (taking forever...)
