I currently running my RT-N16 on TomatoUSB firmware. It is alot more stable compare to stock firmware.
I manage to mount my 40GB portable USB disk to the router. Set a transmission optware on it. For torrenting without PC. I also manage to connect my printer to the USB. Succesfully intsall in user window. Now can act as Print and torrent server. Wow... i really impressed on this RT-N16 capability. like a mini pc. Any 1 here try Tomato DualWan firmware?
http://www.dualwan.cn/ I really like to try but the GUI is in chinese language... currently torrent without problem on 1mbps.... can maxed out the pipeline no prob.. but if can use dual wan... can double the bandwith would be better... This post has been edited by tictac: Nov 15 2010, 05:53 PM |

QUOTE(rajulkabir @ Dec 10 2010, 01:53 AM) It's even more important to have a highly customizable router with the data cap in place. Yes. agree... I now can manage my own bandwith capping. For torrent i put it at low capped bandwith. Currently my RT-N16 act as router and torrent server only. I disabled the wireless. For wifi i hooked up Engenius EOC-2611P to the router. Coverage is extremely good with engenius You need detailed reporting to know when you are approaching the cap, and once you have hit it, you need good QOS to keep your internet performance tolerable. |

if the rt-n16 already flashed to ddwrt... just us web gui upgrade page to upgrade to tomato usb. Select clear nvram after flash.
Then you use chromium web browser. it will auto translate the language to english. Yup it is good for load balancer but not stable as access point. But if we hooked another access point to the router should be no problem. RT N-16 download this for Dual WAN: http://www.dualwan.cn/index.php/download/c...alwan-1.28.0518 - Open the folder, open Firmware_8M folder - find this file tomato-K26USB-1.28.0518-MIPSR2-8M.trx - Rename this file to bin tomato-K26USB-1.28.0518-MIPSR2-8M.bin - then flash it - Load Balancer for Cheap router This post has been edited by tictac: Dec 13 2010, 03:27 PM |
