My Unifi DIR-615 running DD-WRT died just before my 2 years Unifi contract was up... this DIR-615 router must be using bad quality components...
I'was thinking of getting the Asus RT-N16 to continue running DD-WRT on it as it meet a few of my requirements :-
1. Lots of ram & flash 2. All GigabitEthernet ports - nice feature so that I can switch off my 5-port GigabitEthernet switch ( less equipments, less power needed )
Does anyone know which shops sells this RT-N16 around PJ area/Digital Mall ?
Last option would be to buy it via online e-retailer...
Any issues of this running DD-WRT ?
Thanks

QUOTE(Mavik @ Jul 31 2012, 03:10 PM) I just recently bought the RT-N16 and I can't seem to connect it to the internet via the Fibrehome unit which came with my Unifi. Not too sure what is the problem, when I bought the RT-N16 I thought it was a direct plug and play to get Unifi available. Are there some steps that I need to do additionally? I.e. update the firmware etc? This link might work... choose the correct firmware for yr model that supports unifi... http://unifi.athena.my/asus_rtn13u.phpIn my case, I hv modified the settings on the VDSL modem ( not sure about fiberhome setup) that will split the PPPOE and IPTV on different LAN ports..and will be running DD-WRT if I plan to purchase the RT-N16..

Just got my Asus RT-N16 today...
Set it up using the default latest firmware... do not like the look and feel.. so after 1 hours of using it without any issues, I flashed my RT-N16 to DD-WRT version dd-wrt.v24-19342_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega.bin
Migrated all my settings from my Linksys WRT54GS (where DD-WRT started!!!)
When testing the Gigabit Ethernet (1000BaseT) ports I got like 180-190Mbps average when doing a file copy over the network from my DNS-323 NAS to my PC...
I think this is the max the DNS-323 can go as the CPU is almost 90% on the SMB process..

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Aug 13 2012, 06:16 PM) Feedback Session with ASUS Engineer from HQWe would like to take this opportunity to organize a feedback session with our Engineer coming all the way from Taiwan. The reason we still need some on-ground feedback is that there's no UniFi in Taiwan. Therefore such feedback would give our Engineer a better picture of the issue. For those who are interested to help us, and come to this Feedback Session, kindly fill in the list below. Only limited to 10 participants. Feedback Session with ASUS EngineerVenue: Zouk Cafe, The Gardens Time: 6PM - 8PM Date: 16th August, 2012 Participants: 1. ASUSmy 2. I think it was REALLY REALLY "nice" that ASUS organise a feedback session right here in KL... how many other vendors (local and overseas) actually care about customer feedback or customer satisfaction on their products... All products these days have bugs.... live with it... Zapster... You should have done your research on which router model before you make the purchase... even the TM version of the Dlink DIR-615 router is a lousy piece of crap with lots of software bugs... did you make such BIG complain to both TM or Dlink yet ?? Any feedback session from TM or Dlink to hear your problems ??
