Thank you for responding Toh.

I suspect the maxis deck phone can be connected at the fibre optic btu. (Same as unifi maaa .. tongue.gif)

How do I connect the rtn56u please? Appreciate if you will guide me.

The thomson router is better than the unifi dlink router, but it is definitely not as good as the asus smile.gif

Thank you.

i suppose the thomson is comparable to rt-n13? of course the rt-n16 and above are in a league of its own...

Hi Asus MY, i just bought Asus RT-N56U. However, i only getting 65 Mbps speed between my laptop and the router wirelessly. I have check that my laptop wireless can support up to 150 Mbps speed. I have turned off 5Ghz and just using 2.4Ghz. Even though i have tried my laptop to put it side by side with the the router, but still, 65 Mbps. Any idea? Thank you.

Likely your laptop is single antenna (1x1)? So maximum speed achievable is 150Mbps at 40MHz. If there's surrounding WiFi, fallback to 20MHz is normal, that means a speed of 65Mbps.

Hi gogetter83, this is my wifi model: http://www.qca.qualcomm.com/technology/tec...1=47&product=79
Atheros AR9285. How to know the specification of the number of antennas? And also, what can i do to make sure it won't fall back to 20 Mhz? Because I really need the high speed for transferring file and streaming video between my laptop and N56 router due to I'm using a WD NAS 2TB in my home network. So... Really appreciate if any suggestions can be taught to me.. Thank you smile.gif

Based on the link, AR9285 supports up to 150Mbps (40MHz) so it's a 1 antenna solution. As for forcing it not to fallback to 20MHz, it depends on router. A router that complies to WiFi alliance needs to implement fallback. But common to see of the shell routers that don't, so you need to check if there's an option to configure "channel width" in the wireless configuration page of your router. But be aware, you might end up facing poorer performance by forcing 40Mhz if your environment has many neighbouring Wi-Fi access point.

None the less, if you want to try 40MHz, I searched around for a screen shot.

Access this configuration page on your router and set channel bandwidth to 40MHz
