13. Fixed multicast IPTV related issues in PPPoE/PPTP/L2TP connection
This fix should have rectified Astro IPTV issues so that you dont have to do the LAN switching technique anymore in the n66.

QUOTE(GA11AGH3R @ Sep 14 2013, 09:47 PM) Hello Bansai, Are you referring to Astro's Maxis IPTV service? Can you share the steps for resolution? the latest firmware has fixed the multicast issue but now im having problems with the network connection to maxis authentication server. Still looking for a resolution. If anyone is having no problems with it, do let me know. Thanks

QUOTE(vickyrao @ Sep 14 2013, 01:42 AM) Hi Guys, nee help. I just upgraded to the latest firmware for my RT-N66U and now my connection cannot work anymore. And my 5G network is not working as well. Settings are all correct. One thing i noticed is that there is no more special requirement for ISP setting where i set LAN4 for Unifi-Home. Not sure if this is related but i am no longer able to have internet connection. Anyone experiencing the same issue? the settings should still be available when you set it to manual, you still can see the LAN port 3 & 4 VLAN tagging options. i had to do a full power cycle after upgrade to see all the new features though. update - did a full factory reset and now everything is working as it should be. Do still take some precautions when upgrading the firmware though. This post has been edited by bansai: Sep 15 2013, 01:41 AM

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Sep 17 2013, 05:40 PM) Hi bansai & vickyrao, May I ask do you face any other problem on the Maxis IPTV and the VOIP? Is the Maxis IPTV still can use after reboot all the device and changing channel? If your VOIP is working mind share with us how the connection go about? Thank you for sharing And bansai are you still facing problem with your Internet connection? Hi benblitz, Sorry to inform you that we didn't bring in new stock for RT-N53 anymore. And thank you for your reply on the 5Ghz question. Hi lion8667, Will let our RD know your sharing Thank you very much for all your feedback factory reset solved most of the issues, IPTV working fine now, so has the internet connection. Must discard all of the old settings and start anew. For IPTV, you still have to do the port switching technique to get the channels to show up. So still not recommended for consumers hoping for a plug and play solution. Not sure about VoIP as i'm not using their solution for my telephony service

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Sep 24 2013, 12:08 PM) Hi kytan and bansai, Mind provide me the image of the IP diagnostic from the Astro STB box? Before and after switching the LAN port? Thank you for your help. And try Enable the multicast as shown on the picture below for a try. enabling multicast is supposed to solve this problem, but not working in my case. Let me grab a screenshot after work.

QUOTE(pikaphebat @ Oct 14 2013, 09:42 PM) i still need to do port switching with newest firmware .929 with astro and n66u .. Still not solved for this iptv issue? the issue was thought to have been solved with Multicast IPTV fix in the .720 firmware but it wasn't. 979 is just a minor update. I will be comparing tomato, merlin and ddwrt's firmware against asus's own and see if there is any workaround. Problem is that it will take at least a month or more because i have only one unit of n66u and there isnt stock for them to replace my broken n16.

QUOTE(wyyam @ Oct 24 2013, 06:43 PM) I plan to buy rt-ac68u , is it worth? Or juz stick with 66u? if you have AC devices and have the cash to spare then go ahead. AC routers are only starting to roll out and next year would only be the peak for routers and 3rd quarter 2014-15 would be the major rollout for devices. if price differences between 66u and 68 is not much, of course you would go for the higher end product.

QUOTE(weekhang @ Oct 31 2013, 10:05 AM) I got it working! Turns out I was putting 822 and 823 in the wrong order - because in the router IPTV setting it is listed as LAN4 first and LAN3 - I missed that big time! Yes, we all know the vlan tags for iptv and voip. Try hard reset your decoder and roboot the system. Do all your channels still show up? If it does, list down the steps that you took so that we can try replicating it.

QUOTE(weekhang @ Nov 13 2013, 10:49 PM) Hi Brucess, not sure what you mean by switching router port. I did put Astro on LAN port 4 instead of 3 if that's what you meant. Hi weekhang, your configuration is done the same as all other users are doing before. The thing is once you restart your astro decoder, do all the channels still show up? If yes, what other configuration are you using.

astro's new update for its IPTV PVR is creating some new issues for alternative router users... Still testing, but doesn't look good.
