How the router will choose between 2.4ghz and 5ghz if I were to put both the ssid same? Cause I always see the 2.4g led blinking but not 5g.

guys, im using N56U, and i have 2 IP camera connected to it, one at the front and one at the back of my house, im having trouble in placing my router that is optimum for both my camera, either one of the camera will get signal loss. I was thinking to get another high power router e.g RT-N14UHP to work as range extender, is it advisable? Or should i straight away change my 56U to 14UHP?
