something tells me you are not in the technical line. commonly accepted standards matter! else you have all sorts of irresponsible companies claiming stuff (P1, izzi and now yes)heck even some n00b iphone users calling theirs iphone 4g....
*
regarding iphone 4G, they are not wrong, it is 4G (refers to 4th generation of iphone). biggrin.gif

in case anyone wondering how to top up when you ran out of credit.

once you're connected to YES network and ran out of credit, it will redirect you to reload page.

QUOTE(miskin @ Nov 23 2010, 07:08 PM)
1) If they remove the "must use min RM30 every month/month" (MUR) then i will consider Yes
2) If they don't deduct my balance if i don't use min RM30/month, then i will consider Yes

- You see, if i bought the device, let say i bought it at 1/12/2010, i paid for RM99 (usb) + RM50 = RM149
- Then i topup RM30, download alot of stuff to utilize my RM30 in a month... now my balance = RM0
- Okay finish 1 month already, now i enter 1/1/2011
- I receive RM10 (remember the RM10 x 10 month if you buy usb dongle), so in my account got balance RM10
- I dont use YES anymore, because i dont have money la, i bankrup la, i dont work no money la, bla bla bla
- until March 2011, suddenly i menang nombor, not much RM100 only, then i topup RM100 to use YES
- Then check balance = RM10 , this is the balance i can use after i topup RM100
- THen i say WTF ???
- THen i say,, fakit laaa... dont want to use it for 100 days,
- Then, when after 100 days dont use YES, i want to use it lah, and want to topup.
- Then, YES say "Sorry sir, you account has been de-activated because of has been not active for 90 days, if you want to re-activate you account, please pay for the activation fee, RM50. You can still use your old number or a new number sir"
- THen i say, WTF x 2

vmad.gif

THis is because i dont use yes for 2 months, means i hutang sama YES RM60, the the latest topup after 2 months is :

RM100 (menang toto RM100) - RM60 (2 bulan tak pakai YES) - RM30 (RM10 x 3 month)  = RM10
So, for those yang sudah pakai YES, speed was goooood, but REMEMBER, please MAINTAIN/TOPUP RM30 every month  thumbup.gif
If not you will say WTF later .... believe me  smile.gif
IF .. IF .. IF YES remove the 2 items above, i will consider to use YES ... just for my backup internet
*
i have no idea how the min RM30 will work either.
i just assume, we're only need to have min RM30 credit in order for the account to be active?

when i bought the dongle, i don't top up at all and i still can use it, only last night it redirect me to reload page. i have no idea why, so i assume my RM10 preloaded already ran out.

for the time being it's a guessing game for YES users since we're still can't login into the portal to check our account usage etc. laugh.gif

In all fairness, YTL's YES speeds are very good as a "mobile" user already.
Kudos to them.
But for the really serious non-mobility (fixed) access. Do consider these:

Must login with the modem device + the "YES Life" same ID, only work's
both must same id

yes life app can work in any internet connection, as long as you got internet connection then it should work fine.
that's why they bragged you can make/receive calls overseas at local rate as long as you got internet connection wherever you are.

What's good with such speeds when every mb counts?
You would have to pay close to RM100 for every DVD sized content(4.3GB) you download.
*
downloading DVD using mobile broadband is never been a viable option. if i'm not mistaken only P1 offers up to 20GB of data quota per month right?
if your quota below than 20GB per month, you shouldn't download 4GB file in the first place.

mind to share your digi bb experience? since their claim 700+kpbs on average speed? is it real?
*
it is faster than 700kbps, on average 1mbps until like 3-4 months ago the speed is kinda slow especially at night.

yes, this is bad features! when i am in place no yes connection, i cant use it, even i can go to internet by line or wifi...

Added on December 21, 2010, 6:24 pm

currently i think no, because yes didnt provide sim card, it just like p1 without sim, this is actually more like wifi, actually it is wimax...
*
i think that claim is not 100% correct, last time i use it i can connect to yes life using my office internet connection using streamyx & time

+1 bro

nobody in their right mind would consider YES for heavy torrenting/MU/RS. It's just for a different market to compete with those 3G telcos & never intended to compete with fixed line telcos.

That is is also why we have proton, perodua, toyota, honda, bmw, merc, ferrari lambo etc. to cater different needs and budget.

good post, summarize everything regarding the issue rclxms.gif

Is upload counted towards data usage?or just download only....

anyone?

Leaving the Skype voice connected to another skype should consume both UL and DL data because of background sound right ? If that's the case the cost of voice calling using Yes life is more than 9sen per min already.
*
whatever sound coming from skype application is resided on your PC, not from skype server.

really...3.5g for rm50..already gud enough for me...

yes RM50 for 3.5GB is fair enough, my digi internet is extremely slow at night nowadays, even for browsing internet it's crawling.
i really need the new pricing asap.

i don't mind using this service for main line when the coverage is wide enough since RM68/month for 3.5GB plus free calls and sms is quite cheap and i hardly made calls or sms these days ,mostly i use whatsapp or facebook to communicate with friends.

furthermore, the unused balance can roll over.

Added on March 15, 2011, 10:33 amin the star article today, yeoh claimed their network can support up to 15 million users before it gets congested and need to upgrade.

mobile wimax is only near-4G or pre-4G only. in short,to advertise their products as full fledged 4G, do u think it is honest enough? so not fair.

Added on August 19, 2011, 2:36 amp/s : not only me have this thought...u can refer to other topics...
*
pretty much every telco in the world advertised wimax, LTE or even HSPA+ as 4G.
