QUOTE(NutterButters @ Aug 11 2010, 02:17 PM) Helloooo...just wanna ask, I know Maxis lets you somehow purchase the iPhone 3GS outright through Hotlink. For those of you who bought the 3GS from Maxis, do you know if there's more priority given to those who want a plan + phone compared to buying it outright when the phone was first launched here? Thanks... Yes priority given to postpaid with a plan. After that depends on supply and demand. Pretty much back then they gave a lot of priority to postpaid with a plan and no outright purchase except on few small occasion Added on August 12, 2010, 1:49 amQUOTE(HappyGOLuckyme @ Aug 11 2010, 04:30 PM) if Apple fixes the death grip in september, is it a software fix so that people who are using the bumper can let their iPhone be naked again? It exist in all phone including 3gs. Since our cell tower planning are quite ok you won't experience those until dropped calls This post has been edited by viper-xs: Aug 12 2010, 01:49 AM

QUOTE(raptar_eric @ Aug 26 2010, 11:54 AM) yup bro, im very sure... cause my dad just got his ipad like mid of last week, and he told me that the following day, he went over to maxis centre, and got another sim, multisim. And AFAIK ipad only supports data, for surfing, I assume the sim can be used for both calls + data, however ipad supports data only, so it uses data charges only Weird, I got different answer when I enquired about multisim in maxis centre. They said no data sharing. Thought of having another sim and put it in my hsdpa modem to fully utilize it then. This happened 2 weeks ago

That was shortwhile to exceed your alloted plan. However do pay attention to this Turn off data instead of 3g. Edge or gprs can always come into play if needed by the phone/apps.3g/edge/gprs is just the technology to carry these data over cell so turn off the data completely would be the best bet Bill cycle. Depending on your bill cycle do take care that your alloted plan would be prorated as well so don't try to maximise whatever alloted data/voice services for the moment. Have fun now

They will just continue it under whatever plan you use currently except that you are no longer bound by contract hence you can downgrade your plan, terminate etc without getting penalty
No idea on extending it though if your brother is not present

QUOTE(dennisbklow @ Feb 8 2011, 03:59 PM) Thanks for the advice. U mentioned turn off cellular data instead of 3g. Is there a reason for this? I am so worried I turn both off If you turn off cellular data you can be 99.9% sure that data (running regardless of technology like gprs, edge, 3g etc) will not be incurred. Turning of 3G is just for the phone not to lock to any 3G signal instead. In my opinion if you turn off data might as well turn off 3G since you will not gain any advantage by locking to 3G anyway plus it saves a lot on the battery. Turn this off when I roam and single charge can last me 2-3 days easily
