QUOTE > Can I purchase iPhone 3G/3GS from Maxis via the Hotlink plan but use it on my Maxis postpaid or on other telco (Digi, Celcom)? - Yes. That's the beauty of official-unlock/outright purchase. However, the Hotlink plans do come with a free 500MB data usage per month, for a year. If you decided to use the phone on another plan or telco, you're basically 'dumping' the free data bundle that comes with it. My sis has an iphone 3GS with 6 months 500MB data package left to go (prepaid). She is thinking of changing to Blackberry so i'm planning to take her iphone. Can maxis transfer the remainder 6 months 500Mb to my number or is it burned?

QUOTE(yujin86 @ Sep 26 2010, 09:30 PM) so weird... u provide them with ur number during ur get ur iphone 4? i get my free 500mb for 3 prepaid number on the spot. Sure dude? If yes it's good news because there's nothing about prepaid listed in their site. So u pay the RRP, either rm2290 or rm2690 and monthly 500mb for a year right?

QUOTE(huiqing88 @ Nov 4 2010, 10:36 PM) i got the sms notification the next day i purchase my ip4 btw you can check via *100# choose 7 then 1 then 8 I called maxis today telling them that i had not received my 500mb and the guy was like blur checking with his boss and all. Then after 12 minutes, he took down all the info, he said he will check with the center i bought (Sunway). Later i got a call from sunway asking me my IMEI number. Till now i haven't received my 3g data package. Anyone with similar issue?

Hi, anyone knows how we can track the data usage? My sis told me when she reaches around 470MB+, she receives a msg. I've been trying to max it but i haven't received any sms.

QUOTE(cy97 @ Dec 7 2010, 10:17 PM) Go to setting>General>Usage.. you should be able to find your data usage. Beware of HIGH PHONE BILL by MAX IS. This is not very accurate. I think the wifi data also is included in it. Mine was 512MB yesterday but nothing was minused. Added on December 8, 2010, 10:36 pmQUOTE(dany06 @ Dec 8 2010, 11:52 AM) if you are using hotlink: call *100# 7 internet and settings 1 mobile internet 8 check status Thanks dude, this is really useful. Added on December 8, 2010, 10:37 pmQUOTE(adhoc @ Dec 8 2010, 12:09 PM) I suggest you using the iDataUsage app. It helps you keep track of your data usage and will automatically send reminder if your usage exceeds. Alright, will look for it. Thanks. This post has been edited by silverwave: Dec 8 2010, 10:37 PM

QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Dec 9 2010, 04:59 PM) @silverwave WiFi data are not included in the usage calculation. It's only for mobile data albeit not that accurate. Try turning off 3G and Cellular data and only use WiFi, you will see the data counter will not increase. Your case might be from an app running in the background that's using the data or from push notification/mail. It was 21.2MB before i got my 3G package. Well, i suspected it's not accurate. Hi, i have 2 funny situations in the pic below: 1) There have been frequent credit and debit of GPRS data - no idea whether it's normal. 2) The first amount charged in the phone is RM2.00 although i have 3G. Does this happen when there's no coverage for 3G? If yes, how do i know when there is no 3G coverage? This post has been edited by silverwave: Dec 11 2010, 03:53 PM Attached thumbnail(s)
