why spend so much on defence when in multiplayer it's all offensive?
usually i just rush to forge, one photon canon to protect my harvesters (build just beside them without blocking harvesting path, in case stupid reapers rush I can deny their harvester kills by moving away and let cannon do the job; and also good to protect against dark templars. If too much sneaky attacks, u can build 2 cannons the most, or 3 max, anything more than that should be used to build troops for offensive). Just my 2 cents.

watever it is, always always building zealots come first after your first rax is up... then keep tech to higher lvl units ESPECIALLY carriers, stalkers, dark templars, collossus, immortals etc... it's always rush and number of units to see who win in multiplayer.
and economy is ALWAYS NUMBER 1 priority. ALWAYS have 16 harvesters on your minerals (2 harvesters on each mineral stack, if there 10 patch then 10x2 = 20 harvesters) and 3 harvesters each on your vespene gayzers (6 total for 2 vespene, u can do this later as the economy improves and when u feel u need MORE GAS). Trust me, my first few games got flamed coz slow, I finally found out this IS THE MAIN reason why i sucked Zzz.

Then expand to 2nd base and do the same thing ASAP (your macro skills will be tested here, dont be afraid to lose 2nd base coz if you mine hard and fast enuff, you can cover back that 400 minerals that is gone later due to attack. Thats why is good to have a fast expansion at the RIGHT TIME).
