Thanks for raising your concerns. Please do a traceroute and send the logs to blizzardsupport@iahgames.com so we can investigate further.

Running a trace route may help identify where the connection problems are occurring. This does not imply that your internet connection is having problems but this does help us test the connection from your computer to our servers and every "hop" in between. Using this program can help determine what location the data you are sending is running into a problem.

Steps to run the Trace Route command (Windows XP):

1) Click Start and then Run
2) Type "command" and press Enter
3) In the command window, type 'tracert us.logon.battle.net > C:\tracert.txt' (without the quotes)

Steps to run the Trace Route command (Windows Vista and 7):

1) Click Start and in the "Start Search" field type "command" or "cmd"
2) Right click on the CMD icon and select Run as - Administrator to start the Command window
3) In the command window, type 'tracert 202.9.66.76> C:\tracert.txt' (without the quotes)
A file will be created on your C: drive called tracert.txt that contains your trace route information. Please be patient when waiting for the tracert command to complete, it may take several minutes. When you are returned to the command prompt, then the trace is complete. Please email your tracert.txt to me for further analysis.
If you would like to analyze the results yourself, try our step-by-step explanation of the output produced by the tracert command below.

I ran Trace Route, now what do I do?

Open the tracert.txt file. You will see 3 kinds of information regarding the route that internet traffic is taking from your computer to the realm you chose:

1) The number on the far left is the hop number.
2) The next 3 numbers (with 'ms' after each one) is the length of time, in milliseconds, it takes for your computer to receive a response from the computer you are trying to contact. A high value, for example greater than 200 ms for broadband or 350 ms for dial-up indicates that traffic is slow, and can cause latency or 'laggy' play.
Asterisks (*) indicate that your computer did not receive a response from the computer you are trying to contact at all, which can keep you from connecting to our servers all together, or cause you to be disconnected abruptly.
3) The final piece of information is the DNS (or 'name') and/or the IP number of server you are trying to contact on this hop. If you did not receive any responses from this server, you may receive an error message such as 'Request Timed Out' or 'Destination Net Unreachable'.

**IMPORTANT**
Since our Battle.net servers are protected from unsolicited traffic and attacks, all the hops after you have reached our server may give you an error message such as 'Request Timed Out' or 'Destination Net Unreachable'. Our current server names begin with various mixes of numbers and letters, and end in the following addresses:
attens.net (example: mdf1-bi8k-1-ve-114.lax1.attens.net)

All error messages you may receive after contacting our server can be safely ignored for troubleshooting purposes, and they do NOT indicate a problem with your internet connection.
If you see any error messages or asterisks in your trace route for the hops before you reach our servers, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and provide them your trace route information for further troubleshooting. Once the information has been submitted, it may take several days for the problem to be identified and resolved. Remember that Blizzard Entertainment can only ask your ISP to fix an issue; the best results come when you contact your ISP directly.

I was trying to login bnet, and suppose bnet is not down, but housemate downloading at full capacity, so i even barely able to go into forum. So when i try login sc2, it show connection not established, then will pop up options to play offline.

So i did try the offline mode, seem like it will allow only campaign and watch replays. U basically cant see anything else. I didnt try Versus AI but i think will not be able to also. There's 1 thing unsure is, i think u do need to atleast activate ur game online and atleast login to bnet to play ur campaign once. OR maybe the login authentication part is actually did authenticate u, then only it check for region bnet, then if bnet unable to access only pop up offline mode.

Someone do try a few different scenario? So that we can confirm that campaign dont have to be played online, and under what condition? Cannot be simply no login or username also can plaI was trying to login bnet, and suppose bnet is not down, but housemate downloading at full capacity, so i even barely able to go into forum. @ASAP - there 2 option to get US version. That's if u really do just want o get the US version. Since u need to know that in less than 60 days, SEA version will be given access to US servers.

So, 1 is by digital download. The digital download will allow u to choose Mac or PC client to download after u purchase the game i think. Or after download the game then activate it. But there definitely got label Mac download link in your bnet account.

2nd option is to get the retail box copy, mostly is to order from online and got it deliver to u. Malaysia sell 1 is all SEA 1 as i known, unless u can find some sc2 seller from forum here that direct import from US. As for the retail box copy, the DVD contain both Mac and PC client. The installation is the same, just put in DVD and let it autorun, or click on setup or whatever, the rest is the installer will do it self.

Added on July 29, 2010, 10:20 am@fizyboy - did you really test the play as guest? If it is allowing user with no guest pass to play it for single player campaign, then it will be like the post i just posted, it will be like a free campaign game for EVERYONE who didnt buy the game. Cause the game file can simply be copy and paste to every computer in CC and everyone can play as guest to finish off the SP? That is like... impossible.

because not much ppl want to play online yet due to bnet being unstable, easily drop u and kena lost
but.... u can try be the hoster and open to public, then even if bnet screw up, u got easy win. Cause hoster always win in DC.

Added on July 29, 2010, 10:38 am@fuj - Add this into FAQ also.

Q. How to watch intro movie again, or play previously played mission?
A. After you finish the Mar Sara missions (1~3) then you get on Hyperion, at the Bridge there's the Mission Archive that you able to access all previous mission and cinematics.
