I just got my unifi installed yesterday, but wireless signal is quite weak on 2nd floor (modem on 1st floor). I wanted to boost the signal via a new anthenna but the it is not replacable.

any solutions to my problem? I did ask around in digital mall and one of the shops advised me to buy a pair of wall sockets which cost RM200++. Way too expensive for me.....

If you have a spare wifi router lying around, use it as a wifi access point by disabling its DHCP server and wiring a LAN cable from it to the DIR-615. Unifi stock router has very weak wifi signal coverage.

@xiang49, I believe getting a spare wifi router is still cheaper than using those homeplugs. At least that's what I gather from the prices the sales guys @ Subang Parade gave me.

I plan to save some money, get a new wifi router, and turn the DIR-615 into a bridge VLAN switch as per rizvanrp's guide.
