I just registered with TM agent last week. Wonder normally how long need to wait the TM guy call for appointment or installation ?

can the IPTV box work wireless ?? reason cos my condo phone port is at living hall and my TV is at bed room.

If i need to pull cable from living hall to my bed room. should i pull Phone cable or network cable ? which carry more stable signal.

I'll be getting my UniFi installation soon and would like to seek some advice here:

1. What's the maximum distance allow between the "Fiber Optic Termination Point" and "Fiberhome Unit" ?

2. What's the maximum distance allow between the "Fiberhome Unit" and "D-Link DIR-615" ?

3. If without any Cat cabling or HomePlug to the "IPTV Set", is it possible to configure the DIR-615 LAN port4 [for IPTV] to allow wireless bridging from the "IPTV Set" ?
[Say, attach an AP router to DIR-615 LAN4, then attach IPTV set to another wireless bridging router?]

4. Has anyone managed to replace the DIR-615 completely and self-configured other routers with the IPTV still working ?
[If I'm not mistaken, the ASUS RT-N10 stock firmware has some kind of setting for IPTV on specific LAN port, hope to get some setup advice here.]

5. [if yes to Q4] Has anyone managed to use dd-wrt on which router model and what kind of setting is required?

tm technician didn't give any password to me...

Tm asked me to disable remote management, should I? I'm scared...

Hmm, I am thinking of the following connection scheme, if it works?

BTU <-> RJ45 ethernet cable(WAN port) <-> DIR-615 <->RJ45 ethernet cable (LAN port) <-> WAG120N <->wireless<-> PC/MAC

as in the first bill after the service have been activated (1 month after), not right after the installation right?

i have just installed unifi yesterday, i also find that the signal is quite weak on 2nd floor. can i use my old belkin G modem + router? or must use only router only in this case? will the connection speed decrease or sumting? another question, i didnt managed to get the router access from the TM technician, can i just access it thru 192.168.0.1 or every unifi modem have their own address in order to disable the remote management? sorry for the nooB questions.

thanks for ur answer on this bro, btw is it either one or must enter both? another thing is, is there any significant different by using LAN cable connection and wireless connection? because the TM person told me wireless is better in Unifi case? is that true? as far as i know LAN cable is better rite?

Anyone tried use a second wireless router as range extender?

Let say I configure:
Router A -> Modem,
Router B -> Router A as wireless range extender
IPTV->Router B (wired)

How is the performance of the IPTV? Smooth?

did anyone get port forwarding work on the default router firmware, i don't understand which ip to put into private ip and public ip boxes. any help?
