QUOTE(mj_MohSen @ Aug 7 2010, 03:22 PM) will there be any wiring in condos? or they simply use the old-school phone line I'm already using for streamyx? it use back ya old phone socket in ya condo and the moment they change it to unifi. your streamyx will be dead. i just did that couples of hrs ago and i am able to get 560kbps download speed with VIP5. will need to go TM point do the streamyx and old phone number termination and upgrade it to VIP10 or VIP20.

QUOTE(ahsia80 @ Aug 9 2010, 01:42 PM) i tried with mah internet just now... Download is 5.2Mb/s...Upload is 9.3Mb/s... it doesnt matter you get 5.2mbps or 500mbps. at the end... still can have 500kbps+ same like those with VIP20 also. dont bother those speed test thing. i have almost the same speed test like you posted. but again.. getting a 4.53GB full HD movie using the VIP5 to me is 4-5hrs only. uplaoding 100MB photos to flickr is about 3-5min. QUOTE(thankyou @ Aug 10 2010, 01:23 AM) I'm overseas right now... asked sis to check my router login/password. seems fine. Link / Auth lights on. I'm not subang exchange but subang airport exchange... turn off the main switch to reboot whole thing... not working... sigh... I've terminated my streamyx.. no backup at all.. me using subang airport exchange. no DC whole night for me this few day. but link is a bit slow tho. did a 1.4GB transfer and take 2 hrs plus to finish. you might wanna consider getting a wireless broadband with a mobile wifi router like me. once the unifi is down i share my HSPDA connection and allow 2-3 pc online.

strange.. been using the TM router for 24/7 for the pass 5 days on almost 3GB of upload and 200GB of download. no sign of yet the d-link gonna fail me.
i used a tray to seperated the modem and router on to of each other around 6" and the modem is above the ground 2". no fan or air-con environment.
in most of the time i will on on the DECT phone and the IPTV.

QUOTE(Kimie @ Aug 11 2010, 03:24 PM) dude, it's truly really fast... 1TB won't be enough with this kind of speed 388kbps+ is consider ok. even your VIP5 can reach that download speed. mine VIP5 max can reach 600kbps+ but this mostly on the server can handle those download speed or not. so 388kbps+ consider alright. and you are allow to have as many streamyx or unifi installaed in your high rise building if you have enough RJ11 port in your unit. in most of the condition high rise building will only provide 1 RJ11(telephone) port and link you to the TM box. but when you purchase a high rise building which not being construct yet. u actually can have all those port customise according to your need. so the developer will place those customised port which you requested and conseal it to the building backbone. in most of the cases the you customised port will be charge RM150 - RM300 per port. QUOTE(Kimie @ Aug 11 2010, 04:04 PM) @fulat, one to two days after installation my connection/download can reach more than 3Mbps, after that it dropped to lower than that i.e 300kbps - 400kbps... to reach 600kbps .. ... i've asked one of my neighbor at my place he said it should reach 900kbps since he had the same VIP5 like mine (yes, he reach that rate of ddl)... let says Streamyx 1Mbps can reach 160kbps - 180kbps, while 5Mbps can reach 300kbps to 400kbps.... kimie, sometimes it depand on the server which upload for your download. so, location of server and server resources also another factor you should take into consideration. but again, there are other issues as well... if you want egt the maximum performance of your connection. please do switch off the IPTV and the DECT phone. only the modem and the router running. even you dont watch the IPTV and leave the IPTV box on. it's still occupy your 5MB bandwith. so my advise. turn it off if you want max performance.
