X10 is stuck at 2.1 only. for that price range i might just consider Acer Liquid Metal as it's running a 800MHz processor...but i didn't find out much about phones in that price range since it's out of my budget

Hey guys, I am interested in getting HTC desire ( which the ap set nicely fit into my budget of RM1500). Do you guys think is a good time to get it? Or should I wait for newer phone to out? Is there any other option in the mean time?

yup, WVGA resolution (800X480) is actually already pretty good on a 3.7" display

err, is your Desire AMOLED set?

mine is SLCD set and honestly the text are definitely readable at default size without zooming.
AMOLED set however might be slightly difficult to read due to the pentile matrix pixel units.

and..higher resolution doesn't equals bigger text, it actually makes it smaller, but with finer details.
you can notice this just by looking at the monitor's resolution, some actually lowers their screen resolution just so that the text appear bigger.

the reason why Ipod Touch's browser text appears big enough is probably due to how the browser actually renders the text larger than the one on Android by default,
which can be solved by setting it on (certain) browser's setting to render the text larger than default.
