Actually Not really closer to PJ. If the existing road to PJ oldtown via old puchong road without those traffic lights & jam, The distance from the Kinrara junction to PJ oldtown junction is actually nearer i.e 4.9km compare to the Kinrara-Sri manja>Sentosa>pJ oltown at 5.5km...sumore not forgetting the possible jam at Sentosa/OKR junction

In addition to bt14 area where there is New village existed since Zaman Darurat, there are more older settlement in Puchong but some of it no longer exist or in the midst of getting eradicated for eg:
6th mile - just before the bridge to Kinrara criss-crossing KEsas highway. Currently that wooden houses are in the midst of eradication. 11th miles - The current location of the Furniture mall & new shoplot in between IOI Mall & Tesco. - Landslides happened twice there and destroyed the whole kampung - Used to be a crocodile farm and one of the crocodile escaped and dwelled in Sri Aman lake b4 captures..The famous biggest captured buaya in malaysia. 12th mile- The area opposite wisma tractor & the 2 hindu temples & Rakan Muda complex...Now that settlement almost no more liao except the remained of old police station & the small mosque + few fugly shop houses & wooden shacks. 14th miles - New Village during Darurat - Famous Puchong Yong Tau Foo & Yap Chuan BKT. After 1980 and early 90's new housing estates mushroomed started wth Tmn Kinrara, Puchong Jaya & thereafter Puchong Perdana. haha..I only can suspect there is a U-turn there...Never tried the U-turn. i only know the existing big loop via Sentosa
QUOTE(PangurBan @ Nov 24 2010, 10:12 AM) Aiya, Stimix wrong liao. This is the shortest route to Old Town, you make U-turn on the NPE, no need go Sri Sentosa wan: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Poot poot even better. Near the Shell station at the far end of Jalan PJS 1/25 can go straight across to End of the World using the overhead bridge crossing the NPE and the railroad. You're on Jalan Pasar Old Town liao. |

That Klang & Port Klang omnibus is Bt14 town ctr-lah..
The 6th mile few wooden shoplots were on fire years ago..Only recently the whole area eradicated. QUOTE(Parrot @ Nov 25 2010, 10:17 AM) I did find a Puchong "New Village" (which has a former "Klang & Port Klang Omnibus (?)" depot) a little after Tractors and DHL (not 12th Mile, but I'm aware of its location; there is also an abandoned 1960s/1970s bungalow which compound was completely covered with rubbish). I'm assuming 6th Mile is the one where an entire row of shophouses (suspiciously) burnt down and has since been clear away for another shitty development project. Thinking about it, Purchong Road does remind me of Cheras Road, except the former has been completely FUBAR-ed by modern development. It's now an unrecognisable, unlikeable mess. Sure, the place is more accessible now with highways, but in the process of doing so, the area is deprive of historical elements that would otherwise attract me to go there, turning into another run-in-the-mill, cookie cutter suburb. |

Added on November 28, 2010, 12:58 amFor cheap wan, try asking those tailors inside Puchong Perdana Complex. They do simple alteration but i think they can do curtain too QUOTE(eufoniusR @ Nov 26 2010, 09:40 PM) Which shop sell and provide tailoring and installation for curtain? That bottleneck is the result of poor survey & planning last time. They underestimated the number of vehicles at that narrow ramp.. Well time for them to rethink and solve the crazy U-Turn & narrow ramp. probably a tunnel/flyover from old Puchong road to Puchong Jaya

Me too unless during Holiday or really odd hours. If I'm from Old Puchong road direction, I will turn to Kinrara & use the Sg Besi-puchong bypass instead
