Sad story ~~

last Sunday, i paid RM400 for the deposit and was going to claim the unit this afternoon,
but too bad, me and my friend found out that one side of the LX5's LCD screen is scratched ,
and we also found some stains on the grip (so-called 'laki' dirts) , plus few microdots of "pen's ink" on the right side.

So we suspected that the unit they passed to me is a Display Unit, so i immediately rejected it on the spot and asked for a new+sealed unit.

wasted our time ...

[URGENT] i think i seriously need some help from u guys ~

- Do u guys know how to check the "Shutter Count/ Shot Count" on a LX5 ? i know how to check on LX3 but not LX5.
- When u get ur unit, is it sealed in the box ? coz when i tell the shopkeeper that i want a sealed unit , she told me that all cameras are opened for checking before they sell it to customer.

i'm afraid that i might be cheated for the second time , so i need to prepare myself before i go and claim the next unit. atleast got something else to back me up

Your assistants here will be much appreciated

coz i got tht unit at their fair with special price... so they said the payment must be made within the period unless i pay the deposit in advance.

prawn, this is the step-by-step method to check ur Shutter Count, can u please help me to check and see if its usable on ur LX5 ? Thanks

i think my complains did work out pretty nice

Nice whitey LX5 ~ lol tested few shots on my way back, but headed for battery charging once i reached home, got the extra battery too, came in a mini pack :



took it at McD during dinner time 10 mins after i leave the shop. This is my first camera and first time laying hands on such pretty beauty, so, i've no idea how to use it...

after few minutes of flapping through the manual, first attempt on macro shot :

No idea, i bought it from the "well known" camera shop in PG - Lam Long a.k.a Camera Planet.

PS: please google the name "Lam Long Malaysia" to verify the meaning of the term "well known" stated above

yah thats the extra battery pack,

i heard from few shops in PG saying that its not available in M'sia market yet, wonder how LL manage to get it from Panasonic

The Click n Snap tauke at komtar told me its gona worth more than RM150 but he's not sure with the exact price yet, LL said the one im having is RM199, so i assume its gona be at somewhere between RM150 to RM199

Thats the reason why i still 'bong chan' LL at the camera fair , although they're so "popular" in forums ....

coz if u minus the battery's $$ from the overall price of RM1600 , my LX5's just RM1400 good deal

dun ever buy from them, the name is Lam Long a.k.a Camera Planet, u'll get conned if u know nothing about the product ur buying...

as for free gift, i got a Original Panasonic T-shirt (shrunk cube), a luggage tagger, SD card cover, Original Lumix Lx5 battery, Screen Protector

lol XD coz i don't know which setting to choose, so i simply choose a mode and snap

Careful with non-original battery though, coz i heard from other reviewers that the new battery (DMW-BCJ1E) used by LX5 has 4th metal connectors which they suspect its used for some factory logs purposes. It "might" void your warranty if their assumption is correct, so be careful.

The tauke from Click n Snap in Komtar, Penang also warned me on this issue when i asked him about the price of non-original battery

PS: Sorry LZ, not intended to bring any mess on ur e-business, but just wana share my piece of information to all the LX5 kaki out there ~

i mean the DMW-BCJ1E battery "might" be using the 4th metal connector to identify itself to the LX5. So when engineer get their hands on the LX5 during RMA, they know whether we are using the original battery or "Cap-Ayam" one~

actually , its not that oily , just that the flash's reflection add on a few light spot and make it looks like its covered with a lot of oil

LX5 new type of original battery pack DMW-BCJ13 , as what i heard from the sales ppl fron Lam Long RM199.

I'm not sure of it coz they said its not in the market yet, i got mine as a free gift when i buy my LX5

i got mine from Lam Long =.= a very bad reputation-ed shop in Penang during their camera fair
