IMO: The free fall makes the subconscious feel the body is floating. Zero gravity does not have a drastic enough effect necessary to influence the subconscious.

What's weird is, why did they not feel anything when Joseph Gordon Levitt was falling all over the place? (When the van was rolling) hmm.gif
