Now this is getting curiously strange. I can understand Nokia Care not wanting to repair my AP phone and giving me an excuse, but a third party repair shop?

transmission is the apps that enable n900 to download the torrent file....any1 got try? i did tried...manage to download...but i noticed the responsiveness of the phone decreased...but not too bad...its like if u used that apps..u unable to multitask alot cos i beleived that apps eat alot of ram...correct me if im mistaken...^^V

Anyone wants my Otterbox? I can sell it for a tad cheaper then retail (I got it for RM100) to cover for my new Symbian purchases (I just bought Googasync and FreeISMS business edition a few weeks ago). It bearly spent a month on my N900 + I've modded a lanyard/strap hole on it too, and some electrical tape inside to stop it from rattling around (PLUS giving EXTRA shock protection lol).

But really, it's the BEST case I've ever used. I'm even considering one for my E71.

Will do the review in a few days, then we'll see if anyone's interested.

Even if I MIGHT just get a new N900 much much later (if the N8 QWERTY/N9 fails me at launch and makes me sad), I'll just get a new one lol.

No way to resurrect. Will send it to Nokia HQ in Berjaya Plaza for one last hurrah attempt (Comsat will just spinkle water on it and say "water damage, cannot repair"), though things look mighty slim.

It's been a wonderful 3 months spent with the N900 and Maemo and you wonderful guys here at the LYN N900 thread, really.

Though I will be hanging around here from time to time (the E71 thread is slow lol), expect me to lose touch with new updates in the world of Maemo as time goes by - now that I'm deviceless.

@firstknight: I voided my own warranty repairing the slider. Thought that the N900 would live longer than 3 months lol. As for the Otterbox, let me try to repair at Zitron AND publish the review first, can?
Lol, I did that already at Sunway. They did and they said it still wouldn't work lol (supposedly). But Nokia Care Sunway is a franchised service centre. Let's see if Zitron (who runs the Plaza Berjaya outfit) can do any better.

Anyway, more leaks up, dunno if it's old but I reckon it comes from the last Nokia Meego inside presentation (the one that Engadget leaked and said NO MORE SYMBIAN FOR N-SERIES):
If it is AMOLED, NOW we know why HTC had to switch to SLCD. Nokia just bought up all the AMOLED panels in the world and stocked them lol.

Repaired the loose slider, that's about it. Dug my own grave, just lol.

They're known to have done that before if something's too hard/costly to repair.

Is N9 running Meego? It is running on Symbian^3 OS..

who knows N9 firmware (meego) could be ported over to N900

Actually mostly android will be first only meego because android is so close to complete. Meego the shadow also cant see

Unimpressive OS,underpowered hardware & no qwerty etc.
Only people with interest with camera will buy that.

To tell you the truth,you took things too far with your N900.I did tinker a lot with my N900 but I haven't done anything hardware wise.
But then it's true also that with COMSAT as your AP company,it's just the same as you repair things yourself.

I also agree that one should always try to buy Ori set for best protection but if you can't afford the price different you can always try for a reputable AP company.
