QUOTE(stalkie @ Oct 6 2005, 11:41 AM) How come sometime I identify an item got message come out saying "Item Unlock"? What's that all about? What you find and ID in PvE you will unlock for use for PvP. This could be skills, runes and weapon mods. This means when you create a character for PvP, those stuff that you have unlocked are free to be used for that character.QUOTE(Channel84 @ Oct 6 2005, 01:12 PM) guys wat is superior salvage kit and superior identifiction kit do?? man those ascension quest suck...it's painful Superior salvage kit does the exact same thing as an expert salvage kit does. The only difference is superior salvage kit has more uses (amount). Ditto with the ID kit. Expert salvage kit can only be bought in post-searing though. |

QUOTE(stalkie @ Oct 6 2005, 06:36 PM) Uh no. You will only get runes if its an armour drop with either the colours of blue, purple and gold. Blue means its a minor rune if expert salvaged, purple means its higher chance to get major rune but has a chance to be a minor rune as well when expert salvaged and gold means theres a chance that its a superior rune but has a higher probability that its major when expert salvaged. Those charr hides if you salvage will yield crafting materials (to craft armour and weapons). |

QUOTE(menelik_seth @ Oct 7 2005, 09:58 PM) EDIT: Yo, Huh; I understand the 'minion master' part of Overlord Huh's role. But wats the 'battery' part mean? Battery necro is using blood is power (elite) skill to keep the spell casters in the team in high or full energy. Hence the term 'battery'.I also have a n/r and am currently at Lion's Arch. Am enjoying being a minion master very much but primarily I'm just doing quests that give skill rewards to unlock. |

Most probably its Streamyx. I'm encountering bad lag when I'm surfing especially in the wee hours of the morning.

QUOTE(menelik_seth @ Dec 6 2005, 11:50 PM) LOL well personally Ive been spending so much time in-game I'm actually taking a break haha to get some real life work done I used to have a r/e before and I loved the fire ranger build. It had high damage output and also good DoT (burning). The only problem was not that much energy after the first target is dead. Now, e/r would be nice since the energy storage would be a good thing to fuel this build. However, heh I have more fun playing melee characters for some reason. The only gripe I have about traps though is that from a general standpoint, it appears that you would benefit more if your ranger was a melee attacker instead of a ranged one simply because you have to come in close to lay down the traps. Unfortunately if you do that, your attributes would simply be too diluted for you to actually have good skills.I'm focusing on my lvl 20 E/R right now. The other characters are just there to mule for me. This E/R Is so much fun, and I'm enjoying using traps and spirits. As soon as I find a max (req 8) bow that does extra damage while enchanted, I'm going to completely switch to my secondary... I find that this char has interesting gameplay possibilities. |

You only need to buy the game. There are no monthly fees and updates are free. Expansions on the other hand need to be bought but according to anet it wouldn't effect your pvp competitiveness if you don't get the expansions. The next expansion, which is Chapter 2 is going to come out February of next year (if I'm not mistaken).
www.gamers.com.my is a good resource to find this game and they are selling the UK version. Take a peek at their website for locations of their shops. There are no difference between UK and US version other than you start at those locational servers. Fret not however as you can change servers about 3 times (i think its 3 times). Most Malaysians play in the US server so if you get the UK version be sure to move to the US server first before making your character. As for finding Malaysian gamers, there are local guilds like Celestial Order (CO) but we are currently at a slower pace now. Anyway, I'm sure there are alot of people here who would help you or join you for that matter as you play the game. |

QUOTE(nik_krizalid @ Dec 20 2005, 10:00 AM) is the expansion also have like new char...?or on ly new map n skill...?it hard for me to go to ss2...n i not really know tht place. Uh its not yet confirmed but most probably the new chapter will include the continuation of the storyline as well as new maps, monsters and items. There will also be inclusion of new skills for the current classes as well. The only confirmed thing is that there will be 2 new classes that will be introduced with chapter 2 which is the assassin class but the second class wasn't divulged. No idea how this would effect people in pvp who didn't buy the expansion.QUOTE(menelik_seth @ Dec 20 2005, 11:48 AM) The Ranger armor can look kinda goofy; but I think it suits the character type. Basically the clothes look like they were sown together using a different mixture of materials; leather, bone, plants etc. Kinda unique; although I found the fissure Ranger kidna dissapointing and generic. Well personally I like the ranger FoW armour so I guess to everyone their own. I'm trying to save up shards and ectos for the warrior helmet. I got my share of shards but ectos are proving abit tough. Argh all I can do is farm or do FoW and hopefully I can buy ectos off of people that sell em around 10k.I'm personally saving up for fissure for my elementalist FoW was a nice change of pace from regular pve; and I even installed TS just to understand what was going on; since the entire team was on TS... Lotsa fun |

Well its the standard fare MMORPG. The viewpoint is mostly thirdperson. If you are new, you should start in the pve (player vs environment) section and go through the tutorial and storyline of the game. Then you can start o experience the pvp (player vs player) aspect which keeps this game alive. There are multitudes of skills to unlock for use of your character but you can only bring 8 at one time. Therein lies the strategy and tactics. However, you can check GW's website here if you need more info. Another alluring factor of this game is that it doesn't have monthly fees. Guildwars (GW): Prophecies came out last year and the stand-alone expansion GW: Factions is coming out at the end of this month.

Well instances have its good and bad sides. The good side is you are not in contest with other people for a drop, monster, boss or what have you. People can't come in and bother you unless they are already in your party in the first place. The bad side is that the world feels less 'real' since you dont interact with other random people in the out of town areas, towns feel overcrowded and if a party member disconnects, you have to go back to town to grab him into the party again where the monsters have respawned.
So it has the good and its bad side. Personally, the good points outweights the bad. |

Hmmm I'm using Geforce FX 5700 and I don't have any framerate problems in that map. In addition I'm playing it windowed mode as well. Are you running antivirus program in the background? It might be updating itself at that moment.

I have my Tyrian monk and warrior over to Cantha already. The quests and missions are tough if you are not careful. Its a good challenge though but I still prefer GWP than GWF because the pace is more acceptable rather than GWF where everything is hectic.

I play a r/a instead because I want to use the expertise benefits. Quite fun to play and it gives me a good balance of offense and defensive abilities.

QUOTE(valho @ Jun 20 2006, 09:52 AM) hehe nice thanks, will try it out n see how it goes In GWF you need gold and skill points to buy off the skills you need from the skill trainers. You get capture signets from the skill trainer to capture elite skills from the monster bosses you meet.hmm some of the skills listed i dun have yet, btw in faction only some of the quest in the starter island give skills rite, the rest onli monastery credit/imperial commendation, xp and gold rite if that the case the rest of the skills we will need to buy or capture then, there's 1 or 2 elite skills for assassins in burdek way i think, will try to cap it later |
