QUOTE(deodorant @ Sep 18 2010, 09:06 AM) question to you guys ... in situations where you "might not" be allowed to take photographs ... why not use zoom lens or act as if tough u're tourist and just shoot? lol as far as I know only premises that can't be shot easily cause of legal term and so on.. but flea market is ok le example let's say you're at a flea/street market and there's a display of goods that is nice and you want to shoot, but possibly the shop owner won't want/allow you to shoot ... what do you do? do you ask first shoot later or just whack shoot first worry whether he will say 'oi no photographs' later? 1 of my "tourist shot" lol *hiding the back of a girl* ![]() |

hehe... thats the style I want to propose actually
Guess it fails... was looking trough a japanese's street photos which to me... looks nice... but mine can't be compare to him...since the lighting were so low at that place.. have to cook alot in LR His style was high key/ b/w / grain ... mine was my own experimental.. bahaha thanks for the comments This post has been edited by ComradeZ: Oct 19 2010, 05:49 PM |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Oct 20 2010, 02:15 PM) It's just a mental hurdle albeit a rather large one. If ppl look after the shot, just reply with a nod or smile lo. I usually use my earphone and crank up the level to feel somewhere else lol~ the experience of a lady sees you taking her pictures and then giving a face of " You pervert" has taught me lessons that I don't need.. so what I do is put on my earphone, play rock or some "can't-hear-or-care-about-the-surrounding" and shoot QUOTE(applemango @ Oct 23 2010, 07:53 AM) thanks manThis post has been edited by ComradeZ: Oct 23 2010, 11:31 AM |

QUOTE(littleprawn @ Oct 23 2010, 11:37 AM) wow... really good tips... tried that... but then again the sound of whisper "oh look at him show off" "that guy taking our picture~" " wat pe tuh molek sikit eh!"next time i pretend to listen to music, just stuck the earphone at my ear can dy.. thats why the music must be there to compress those kind of sounds lol~ This post has been edited by ComradeZ: Oct 23 2010, 12:10 PM |

QUOTE(ianho @ Oct 23 2010, 10:46 PM) IMO closing urself off from the world with music is bad. U need to be aware of ur surroundings when doing street photography. For better pics n also for ur own safety. U cannot hear some1 following u then ur in trouble when a snatch thief is behind. There are also funny ppl who will shout n scold, better to hear it, say sry n walk off than get whacked. Also, mebe sumthin interesting is happening behind n u'll miss the moment coz u were lost in ur own music world. Well thats my style I guess, I prefer genuine image rather than stage image. So far I've been doing wonders. As far as the thief goes... well I wouldn't go out alone and wouldn't go to hidden+nobody at there. I prefer crowded places over 1-2 people hang in out in 1 places. If they angry, I will nod, smile raise my hand sign of saying hello. haha... Besides, part of the fun is in getting up close n getting some genuine reactions from ppl n also making friends n having a short chat if they r interested in what ur doing. Showing them the pics u have just taken of them n all. U really shudn be closing urself off from all this with music. and believe it or not, I've been caught 5 times while taking their pics, usually I will stop when they noticed and ...most of the time I shot using the farthest zoom. So usually I hide myself behind people's back or at least snap 1 if the guy are distracted. I don't like to take pictures while they know they are being snap. My aim is happy faces and only that. Landscape is just "for the day". This post has been edited by ComradeZ: Oct 23 2010, 11:44 PM |
