hmmm but sometimes you just cant get the picture quality you want with a p&s camera. and there is alot of dslr user take street photography and i don see anything bad happen to them

I think phonecam, P&S, mirrorless, dslr, rangefinder or whatever has its strength.

DSLR's can snipe..



DSLR's can also go closer and go for clarity even in poor light



PnS can go even closer... from angles... and for poor light, there's always B&W :



PnS with its small sensor, big dof is even easier to pre-focus
