Added on February 6, 2011, 1:18 amNeed some SECC cutting jobs on the casing to route additional hoses frm the radiator located outside into the casing. Any one knows who can do a cheap and nice job without dismantling the casing into pieces?

get a saw and cut the lips on ur own man .
its not that hard .

for the hole, if u have drill at home, but the round cutter which would cost around 20-30 bucks only .
*
If it's Al it would be pretty easy, but it's SECC, this is gonna be pretty tricky. Futhermore, I'm hoping to get a smooth cut without rough edges. Dremel is the ideal tool, but I can't buy Dremel juz for tht 2 pcs of libs, this doesn't make sense to me.

guys .
what do u think bout the nidec high speed gentle typhoon ?
im gonna use 4 of them on my lovely black ice gtx480 tongue.gif
the spec looks nice and we all know the AP-15 is very quiet in operation

here's the link
http://www.tech-kings.net/home/index.php?o...tid=44:coolilng

problem is i cant find any review on it .
thinking of grabbing 4 units straight from japan for the 3000RPM version .

the spec is almost similar to my yate loon d12sh-12 .
the rated dBA is slightly lower than yate loon .
my ear can stand the yate loon sound .
im just scared that the spec doesnt justify the actual performance .
*
Interesting hmm.gif

I'm interested with the 3,000 r.p.m. model too, I need 3pcs, wanna do bulk?

Bro, i've been facing the same problem, trying to mount my EK Bay-Spin res to a Coolermaster Cosmos 1000, and yet a simple tools like a hammer and a big flat head screwdriver does the job well.

U just have cover the damned blockage with a cloth or anything to prevent scratch. and hammered it slowly until it bent and align with the casing.

TQ
Nizam

Mine is made of SECC which means it's very tricky to get it done and still obtain a good bending job. If alumminium should be a way easier.

Tht 2 pieces of the bay support have been cut since I don't think it's really needed and in fact there are many casing built without bay support. And in addition to tht, I have also requested to cut two additional holes at the back for tubing routing.

Jobs ware done by him at RM40 and took nearly a week, perhaps it sounds too expensive but not much option left since I don't have any power tool with me.

Btw, thanks for the advice

Screw size to fasten the parts in the following orientation

SECC casing 38mm thick fan2mm silicone anti-vibration padXtender2mm silicone anti-vibratino padXchanger

and

38mm thick fanMCR QP

FYI, I find it's very difficult to get imperial size of srews in M'sia.

Any advice on the screw size would be appreciated.

swiftech uses M3.5 screws. i managed to mount my MCR QP 220 using M3 screws. i can try find a solution for you. but now guarantee tho tongue.gif

My MCR is 6/32 or M3.5 threaded while the Xchanger is M3 threaded.
Perhaps my question should hv more specified to the length of the screw.

If any1 can find 1 meter long 6/32 thread stud, pls don't mind notify. Imperial size fasterners are very hard to get in bolehland sweat.gif , mostly are metric. Gonna need 4pcs of very long 6/32 thread studs to make "bug legs" for the MCR.

Fasterner shops can help U to cut to the desired length, but only down to certain length, if too short, likely they won't cut due to cutting short screw is a risky job , they don't custom make.

I don't have XSPC radiator, thus M4 is not needed.

i'm using m4 skrew for my radiator... want to find ~35mm length to mount 140mm fan and rubber on that rad, but, there is no such length of skrew at my nearest hardware shop...lastly found m4 60mm length skrew at motorcycle shop and cut it myself.. biggrin.gif

btw, what skrew and length  do u need...pm me on detail...and if 1 founds, can buy it for u....

Can U find imperial size screws?

QUOTE(supernothing @ Apr 25 2011, 07:53 PM)
can order from RS. found a few m3.5 screws 40mm, 50mm and 60mm. but they are slotted raised countersunk screws.

dump the whole roll in lol....price abt 10-20 bucks?? like that lah biggrin.gif

QUOTE(AlamakLor @ Sep 22 2011, 09:35 PM)
Can you really get 99.9% silver solder in Jalan Pasar? You have to be careful not to get silver solder with mixed tin/lead/flux.

Pure silver solder generally doesn't stick very well and requires flux to solder biggrin.gif
*
The concern is how pure the silver is? Cuz V don't want any content of other metal(s) in that silver as much as possible.

Alright, sample silver kill coil has been made thumbup.gif

There are two sizes available:

- Small: 1.36g (same weight as petra's)
- Medium: 2.xg (double the size of petra's)

The strips are now being polished. Will get pictures up when I get a chance. Pricing should be comparable to Petra!

Whether it is polished or not is really moot because the silver will oxidize. Google it and you will find a bunch of discussion about this biggrin.gif
*
Awaiting for the prices drool.gif Hope to see it in Garage Sales

QUOTE(Dennos @ Sep 25 2011, 11:01 PM)
should not polish it with wax from my years experience in plating industry i.e. autosol. Use IPA or sand it. Sanding is the best for oxided plating i.e. chrome plating but it will scratch the surface.

QUOTE(AlamakLor @ Sep 25 2011, 11:10 PM)
Bro, silver is not polished with wax eh.....sweat.gif Silver is polished with silver polish. It can also be done with baking soda

Btw, these will not be as big and heavy as mine. According to my cousin mine is about 6 grams  ohmy.gif
*
I wouldn't use the silver for aesthetic purpose. Polished or not polished wouldn't be a concern

Frm certain angles, one the the hoses frm the radiator seems touching the fan at the back of the casing.
