yup, the right fans are important. as we waterhead uses the most fans, initial purchases for them need to be made base on well inform data to suit ur theme/budget/estimated performance etc. the perfomance gain between fans are ridiulous, so get it right the 1st time, and ill inform 1st purchases may result in u purchasing a new set of fans for your 2 x quad rad push+pull monster config

one thing i like bout the f12 is thats it dirt cheap....Rm20 bucks even cheper than the good ol'yate imho.

Duno if u guys notice or not, the 38mm F12 Pro is the one comparable to Gentle Typhoon, not the 25mm F12. The thickness and none flat design of F12 Pro turns me down & that's why I chose GTs.

not to bias on the f12... but in my opinion, one of the cheapest FDB bearing fan. CM R4 are sleeve bearing and most rm30 fan. So its the king of rm30 in my opinion. Even though yate are better, but still they are sleeve bearings.

Wow, awesome CM R4 can pwn F12.. really out of expectation...

Just to share my experience, am still using the cm r4 fans, 4 of them to be exact for my 480 tfc xchanger rad in push mode and i'm damn well satisfied with it.
In no way are they bad at all.
Yeah, the 19dba is a bit far fetched for a 2000rpm fan but hey, they do a great if not excellent job cooling my loop at IMHO very decent noise. even my ceiling fan is louder than 4 of those r4 fans (please note that noise is subjective, hence the IMHO)
Temps are great even at high voltages so yeah, if anybody is contemplating on whether they should buy the r4 fans for water cooling, DEFINITELY! They're cheap (~RM25 per piece), silent (not 19dba but SILENT enough in my books) and they come in red, blue and green so it's easier to match with ur theme.

Why don't u try the Xigmatek fan if u want white? They should be a tad bit quieter too

you wont get that much improvements. I tried yate loons, CM R4, f12 pro... their temperature are almost similar. 1-2c on load.

if you wanna see 4c improvements, go for 38mm Panaflo or San Aces. I tried them before, pushing lot of air through the radiator.

1 thing i swap from CM R4 to f12 is because of the LED died out issue and also leaked oils from the bearing.

I also tried Xigmatek, the temps also identical to CM R4, F12.

So just buy whatever suits your budget. I been trying different fans on radiator since I enter water cooling world at 2005. 

Silverstone Fm121 also not bad, but it gets noisy when running full speed. Havent try SS Air Penetrate yet ...

personally, if the new rad could at least pull of another 5c off my ambient/water temp delta would be great..all eyes on skinee now, hoping he wont goof the review though...i would prefer bundy, but being a german an all, wud just have to take facebook value lah...until someone here can review it for us ...
