i had a friend like that too.. he cried and said he got no money to buy his gf any birthday gift and all.. then i lent him 100 (instinct told me not to lend too much).. then he kept promising he'll return it to me when he had the money. he dragged on for a whole year.. i finally told him.. Keep the money, its charity. and then i cut all contact with him..

So lesson learn, lend money to your really trusted friends and not to those who you kenal kenal only. Don't easilly trust people.

hell....i also have one case like yours. I think I borrowed him more than 1K....1 freaking year never pay back. Keep saying sorry BRO and say all sort of nonsense. But see his pic all got new gf la...go clubbing la. Earning more than me and can get a Gen2 some more. BRO meh?

Btw....chill bout it...This type of friends not worth to be called friend for long. To me, he's worth that much that I borrowed him. Urs....is cheaper. So, take it as you have one super cheap friend.
