No wonder Al cockily proclaim he doesn't need to prove anything to anybody (ie. AW). The #2 keeper did for him.

long time didn't post here...
but this is a stupid vote from soccernet..

What's more likely this season?
1. Spurs finish ahead of Arsenal
2. Man City finish ahead of Man Utd
3. Everton finish ahead of Liverpool

Obviously there are more MU and Liverpool supporters in this world than us... =.=
*
noise only...

one barca player said Arsenal won't be in title race by January, today.
by tomorrow who knows.

AW poised to extend his manager contract BBC Link

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he is on the brink of signing a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The 60-year-old Frenchman's deal is due to run out at the end of this term, but he says a new contract is on the table ahead of the start of the new season.

"I have to show how much I believe in this team by showing my commitment," said Wenger. "My situation will be sorted out very soon."

Wenger added: "I believe my commitment to the club has nothing do with the speculation of how the season would go, because that would be unfair. "If I do not do well, and one day the club is not happy with me I can completely understand that I do not stay here any more. But I believe we will do well."

Wenger joined Arsenal in September 1996 and set about revolutionising the north London outfit, winning the league in 1998, 2002 and 2004, the FA Cup in 1998, 2002, 2003 and 2005 and reaching the Champions League and Uefa Cup finals.

However, since the club moved to their new Emirates Stadium home, Wenger's young side have been unable to supply any more silverware and finished 11 points behind Premier League winners Chelsea last season.

"What will be success is to improve from last year, which is to win the league - that is the only benchmark," declared the Gunners boss.

"You cannot finish third and then say for the season after, you want to finish behind that. We are a young side and the improvement is natural - the ambition is there, we are hungry for success.

"We know people want more from us and we are ready to give more, but success is to win the league."

Wenger will be looking to captain Cesc Fabregas to provide the on-field inspiration for his team after the World Cup-winning Spanish midfielder pledged his future to the club despite a summer of speculation linking him with his former side Barcelona.

"Cesc has been very good, despite all of that story, and his love for the club was never under threat," said Wenger.

"You could understand he was torn between Barcelona and staying here, but he really deeply loves the club. His attitude has been completely spot-on.

"I tried very hard to show him how much I want him to stay and of course you never completely know the outcome, but my resolution and determination was always very strong to keep him - and it was never a question of money."
