QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Sep 30 2010, 05:12 PM) Yes its a niche market but the Forte is not a Proton. The Putra for Proton was not its primary sales generator. Just like Toyota, the Putra was produced merely to cator for a niche market whereby even if it fails it will not affect Proton's bottom line. In Naza Kia's case, i dont think they would be bringing in the Koup merely to act as an intermediary sales getter. It would be expected to bring in some decent sale figures. but cerato forte & cerato koup are selling together in singapore...who knows...But then again its just my opinion. Cheers! being a cbu, it could probably meant as additional bonus for Naza if it sells. if it doesn't, they'll probably firesale it after few years, lol. |

can any forte 2.0 owner share their FC here? tbh, i haven't been seeing much info on this.
to me, FC is among the top criteria for me because i am a heavy on car use. |

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Oct 1 2010, 06:17 PM) Generally speaking full highway use is around 7-8L/100km; full city use can go up to slightly over 11L/100km. My lowest average was 6.5L/100km full time highway; highest was 12.5L/100km while driving in city like a mad man. These are average manual FC calculations on a weekly or fortnightly basis, not readings from the car's computer which often underestimates. that is FC for the 1.6 or 2.0?Apparently the difference between 1.6 and 2.0 is not that significant so there you go. 1.6 & 2.0 FC is marginal? how's that possible? the car weights much for 1.6, IMO. among the reason i skipped it when i tested the 1.6. the engine is always revving to maintain decent acceleration. i've driven a car fitted with the Theta ii 2.0, so i more or less know how much power that engine has compared to the 1.6 gamma. it was most obvious from standstill. i have been pestering kia showrooms to inform me for any 2.0 testdrive, but till today they can't provide one. i was hoping the 2.0 was the best engine to get for the Forte, in terms of balance between power & FC. off topic : test drove the Chevy Cruze, which is also a kimchi new model. have to say, it suffers the same driving impression i had with the 1.6 forte. reluctant to move forward, but it gets smooth once it does. relaxed driving for highway cruising but bad for mixed town drive. |

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Oct 2 2010, 10:58 AM) Mine's 2.0. thx star.As mentioned before, FC depends on your right foot. The 2.0's larger displacement guzzles more fuel; but then again the 1.6 Gamma is pulling a heavy C-segment car hence it tends to be more strained compared to the ThetaII, resulting in higher FC than it should (compared to other 1.6 engines in lighter cars). Therefore they both balance each other out. I'll still say get the 2.0 if you can afford it and if there are stock available, but don't expect the 2.0 to smoke others on the roads. It is, after all, a small size sedan and not a sports car. The 1.8L Cruze is notorious for lacking power as reported in most reviews. The 6 speed box on paper is an advantage compared to the dated 4 speed of our Forte, but having too many gears in city-driving where you'll encounter constant stop-go situations will only result in power loss. so i know now roughly the FC forte 2.0 is going. thx again! adding another model to my list, =) |

QUOTE(Taipan052 @ Oct 6 2010, 11:05 AM) he's gonna say it was his wife's, not his. therefore, technically it was his wife's car that butthurt him, but that doesn't make it korean car because he didn't own it himself.read the over thread Vios Vs Forte. He can even spin "will be" as not "will be". that's like Bill Clinton when he said the meaning of "is", "is"... |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Oct 6 2010, 11:17 AM) Facts cannot change no matter how u try and change it. U got embarassed in the other thread and now ure trying to get support here? Cant seem to cut it on your own eh? you didn't even replied the other thread...that's why i said it here. i quoted your whole post, but still you refuse to acknowledge it. instead, you prefer to say "will be" as not "will be" and go on and on.Try harder la. Even if there are 100 ppl against me here it doesnt matter cuz again FACTS DONT CHANGE. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Oct 6 2010, 11:27 AM) I didnt reply??? last postAgain more 'facts' from u. I would be rolling on the floor laughing if not for the office environment im in right now. you request that i quote the whole sentence before determining the meaning of the things you said. i quoted your whole post, & you can still refuse "will be" is not "will be"? what else can we say? |

from the info posted so far, it does somehow confirms that the car in the vid is almost 80% the new civic. the 20% doubt would be if the response is so bad, honda makes a last minute change to it. but given todays spyshot accuracy...i think that's almost not likely.
most of the spyshot of the cars recently launched are almost identical. i guess this civic will be no different. |

aduih...not a good move by Naza branch. this is exactly what will plague potential Forte / korean buyers. bandit/robber styled salesperson....sigh, the mentality.
