if you're used to driving a bigger engine capacity car / car with better power to weight ratio, chances are the 1.6sx feel sluggish.
was having the same feeling too after driving friend's 1.6sx forte. could be placebo effect  tongue.gif
more than enough for light and easy driving style thou.

I only drive a 2003 model 1.5L Toyota Vios and i find the 1.6L Forte to be quite sluggish. Not sure if thats the case with that particular car or do others feel the same too.

coz heard that the warranty is like this

2 years manufacturer warranty

3 years extended warranty from insurance (allianze?)

then the whole sum insured cost more than normal. <-- this one dunno how true it is.
*
Ure right. You need to pay for the additional warranty. About RM 600. But my question is this: Does it cover everything?

Hey guys, i heard that a few units of the Kia Cadenza are already here. The salesman at Menara Naza in KL, took a few pics of the car in their garage. Any idea about the launch date or pricing? Looks quite nice.

bro taipan, i sent back my car to check for that "thing".. charge me Rm18 says just relocate back the thing to its location without any lubricating. Should it be like this? and should i been charge for the RM18 since my car is under warranty odo only 9500km.

and Melaka Fortezen.. need your help! my FC average at 11.5-12.5l/100km.. normal kah driving at melaka with fc like this? Melaka town la i mean..
*
Based on my test drive last Sat, i would expect the FC of the Forte 1.6L in town driving to be high. The pickup is very sluggish and i dread to see how much fuel it would consume in a month.

Just for info, you guys may or may not know this:

The Forte 2.0L 0-100kmph acceleration is 10.5 secs with 154Hp and 194Nm torque and with a 1326 kg kerb weight.
Much better than the 12.5 secs the 1.6L requires for its 0-100kmph sprint.

Hahaha..maybe u dont know him. I can imagine he will say his favourite fact that the fact is always be facts. Nothing u can do to change the facts (he will feel relieve knowing that u cant deny this type of statements). The facts that the Forte 1.6SX is more sluggish than his 2003 Vios is always a fact. The facts that he uses Vios E (just assuming by the price he provided before) with 109HP, with 14" rims (also assuming form the E spec Vios), with less than a ton in weight that can accelerate 0-100km/h in less than 10 seconds is also a fact. The facts that the 1.6SX with 124HP, with 17" rims, with extra 300++kg in weight that can only accelerate 0-100km/h in 12.5 seconds is also a fact. The fact that the rotational inertia for the 17" rims are far greater than the 14" rims by using this formula I = ∑ r(2)m = ∫ r(2) dm where r = radius of the rim (note that r value is to the power of 2) are also a fact. & what u said is also a fact..the fact that if the same Vios uses our 17" rims & with extra weight be put in, the same effect can be feel (or perhaps worst than the 1.6SX Forte)...at the end..no ending facts if u talking about facts with him..agreed Fortezens?..hahaha rclxub.gif
*
U really need to grow up since u are totally incapable in handling a mature discussion. Yes i guess the rims make a big difference which brings me back to my point which is the WEIGHT of the Forte 1.6L. I believe it will drink fuel during city drives.

Hi, the problem is that the Forte 1.6SX comes with 17" rims which is too big for 1.6L engine! Usually 15" for 1.6L (Mazda3, Altis 1.6E), 16" for 1.8L (Civic 1.8, Altis 1.8) & 17" for 2.0L engines (Civic 2.0)

If you put 17" heavy rims on the Vios, you will feel the same effect as the Forte.  biggrin.gif
*
Yes i agree with that. The rims on the 1.6L Forte is really big. Why would they wanna do that and make the FC worse i wonder....

We've got enough 1.6 owners here who are satisfied with their FC and acceleration. You don't have to deliberately kutuk the 1.6 for the heck of it.
Don't you ever get bored? Just buy a Forte and join the party, you'll enjoy it even more rather than randomly rambling in our thread.

Why dont u read all the posts before commenting? In the previous post i asked why the car felt sluggish and if it was only that particular test car which was having that problem or if others have faced that problem as well. If u cant read and understand the main issue here then refrain from commenting. I have every right to ask questions and there are some ppl like Taipan and others who have provided some decent answers.

Getting 1 unit around December or January 2011... Woohoo...

I have test drive on Sunday, the car was awesome!
*
Dont forget ure getting a 2010 manufactured car. When u reach 1 Jan 2011, your car will be considered 1 year old already. When u go past Q1 your car is already considered 2 years old. Dont make the same mistake many ppl have made in the past. Car age is not determined by the months but by the year of manufacture. if i were u i would delay the car delivery untill they can provide you with a 2011 manufactured model. The few months wait is worth it considering the drop in resale values.

This is not a guessing game my corporate friend..it's a technical fact. Unless u wanna challenge Newton's 2nd Law & it is not my intention to find your fault here, but if u knew the Forte 1.6SX sluggishness is due to the weight..why bothering to ask question below? are u trying to provoke us?
*
Only a kid like you would confuse mere questions as provocations. In test cars, because the vehicle isnt run in it never performs to its actual best. Plus different test cars perform differently since some are tuned differently. I asked the question to know if the current users have the same feeling of sluggishness as well. I asked a question and got some decent answers. Again, if u wanna turn this into a shouting match then be my guest. Im more than capable of matching u blow for blow. Grow up.

Yup..agreed with u that he always stating facts & most of his facts are undeniably very2 good. I respect him towards his facts & in fact i like most of his comments in the paultan blog. Only the way he organizing his words that makes many feels bad & sometimes sounds provocative & disrespectful to others. I think that's why most commentators in paultan feel sick with him..not becoz of the facts he bring in, but the poor phrase that he put in. Sorry bro CM98, maybe it is my 'kiddy' nature to cynically tease people like u  icon_rolleyes.gif

Cheers!

Most commentators in paultan feel sick with me? U need to learn the meaning of 'most' first.

Anyway, im immuned to teasing whether cynical or otherwise. Way beyond all that. If i need to say something then i will. Anybody is free to agree or dispute my points.

Cheers!

If Vios can hit 190kmph i dont see why the 1.6L Forte cant.

The Ford Fiesta has been launched. I must say the pricing is quite competitive. 1.6L sedan with 6 speed auto and full safety specs for only RM78,888 (OTR) is quite competitive. The Forte has actually revolusionised the pricing for vehicles in Malaysia. Now Ford has dropped prices of its Fiesta to compete with the Forte. Proton Inspira has also come out with a competitive pricing. Im sure Hyundai will do the same with its upcoming Avante. All in all 2011 will be a good market for car buyers.

Most banks are offering around 2.8-2.9% for 7-9 yr loans for new cars now in October.

The fact that the police didnt stop her earlier has nothing to do with the speed of the car. Police officers are trained to stop such cars at the safest opportunity. Not a blind stop in the middle of a freeway when it could endanger the lives of other road users.
