WM5 has newer alarm tones compared to WM2003SE but that can be downloaded. Besides that the Biggest Plus for the WM5 is the persistent storage where when your battery runs out, you won't lose you information installed into you device unlike WM2003SE. Battery Konk, there goes all your programs.....

QUOTE(dantwt @ Mar 6 2006, 10:00 AM) i notice that there;s 2 type of battery when i enter to the POWER menu? One is backup battery and the other your normal battery. The backup Kicks in when you normal battey drains out. This only keeps your device running to sustain the programs already installed in it and you are not able to use it. Its also for a short while only...long enough for you to get hold of a power source/adapter.anyone care to explain? btw.. u guys always deplete the batt power b4 charging or always charge ur mini whenever possible? As for charging...I try to charge mine only when it drops below 30%. I hardly use my usb cable now cos I just take out the SD-Card and slot it into my Notebooks built in reader. I've already installed all the programs I want so using the cable to Sync my device to the comp is not necessary... |

i remember that i read somewhere about this battery thinggy.. it says dat litium-ion batteries last longer if u maintain its power more frequent. dat is always charge whenever possible.. on the other hand, nickel-metal-hydride(ni-mh) batts lifespan is based on number of cycles..
i dont know whether its true anot coz its not from a high credibility site. and also im not sure if this explaination is jus for AA/AAA rechargable batts or including cellphone/pda batts.. can someone pls clarify?? |

Guidelines for prolonging Li-ion battery life
Unlike NiCad batteries or NiMH batteries, lithium-ion batteries should be charged early and often. However, if they are not used for a longer time, they should be brought to a charge level of around 40%. Never use the battery care functions some cellular phones provide for nickel based batteries. (This will deep cycle the batteries.) |
