Hmm I can't verify if I'm right, but aren't we the only ones willing to offer to pay him $90,000 pounds a week? If he was willing to forgoe Champions League football, it could be for anyone of 3 reasons :-

3) Money
i read somewhere (maybe RAWK) that we are the only team that offering him that much. and maybe a small percentage that he gonna play regular football.

lets hope he'll not spending most of his time injured. could be a terrific signing if he managed to do so.

QUOTE(madmoz @ Jul 20 2010, 03:48 PM)
Not too sure about Reina, i have a strong feeling that Barca might well be lining up something for him sometime down the road hmm.gif
out of all current imports in the team, i believe reina is the only player whose gonna stay here for a long long time. unless we are really really shit and barca come knocking

i'm reading some FB post that in the mist of joe cole announcement, a news in tandem was sneaked under the radar that future ticket prices for LFc games had gone up. of course this wont affect LFC fans outside UK, but the repercussion in LFc grounds may be different.

So much promises of starting a new ground but not even a spade was shoved, & the cost for to support LFC will hurt a little more to fans in UK.

joe cole is likely to be rivalled by offers in salary from others but i guess he wanted guarentee to start more often. (if he stays out of treatment room)

but i dont think he's as bad as sickly as our ex  'the name shall not be named again" no.7
*
yeah.. there's a thread about it over at RAWK. the new ticks price divided into 3 category A,B and C. price hike increased at least 15%

Gerard Houllier has hit out at Rafael Benitez, his successor at Liverpool, claiming it was his work that led to the Champions League victory in 2005.

Gerard Houllier won the UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and Charity Shield in 2001, as well as the 2003 League Cup

• Cole signs, Degen to leave
• Gerrard to stay at Liverpool

Houllier left Liverpool by mutual consent in 2004 and was swiftly replaced by Benitez, who took the club to European glory in his first season with a surprise victory over AC Milan in Istanbul.

Benitez followed up that success with the UEFA Super Cup in 2005 and the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2006, but he left the club this summer after a seventh-place finish last season.

Houllier has now claimed it was his work that paved the way for Benitez to succeed and suggested the new Inter Milan boss has made life much harder for his replacement, Roy Hodgson.

Speaking of the changes he brought about during his tenure, Houllier said in the Liverpool Echo: "One, the pattern of getting a foreign coach was already accepted. Two, he had a Champions League-winning team. Three, the team were already in the Champions League. Four, we had built new facilities. And five, it was a different training routine, different attitude and mentality.

"I claim that we - Phil Thompson, Sammy Lee and the staff - definitely turned it round. The chairman, when I left, said 'You put the club into the 21st Century."

He added: "Twelve out of 14 in Istanbul were players I had signed or developed. I left Liverpool with a team and in the Champions League, but when you finish seventh with Torres and Gerrard...

"When I came into the changing room in Istanbul some of the players said: 'Boss, it's your team'. After Rafa Benitez left this summer, one of the players sent me a message. He said, 'Boss, he hasn't beaten you'."

anyone here good at designing?

i can source for printer and shirt

much cheaper this way............... thumbup.gif

yeah.. count me in if there's a decent enough shirt.

btw, all this talk about remy (which i have no clue how good he is) makes me wonder why the gaffer didn't want to give our own promising young-ins any chance? pacheco and especially nemeth. they will eventually move on to other clubs if no sign of hope of playing 1st team football which is a waste of talent.

boy, im happy to see benitez gone for good, me always criticize the way he puts the team and how he's handle the young players...with limited money in the bag RH definitely looking at the young players at the academy n would give them chance to prove their worth,,to be honest i care less who's we going to sign but more eager to see whose gonna be surprise performer's for coming weeks,,
*
i thought he's the one who bought most of the younguns and revitalize the academy? all the young talent who failed to impress were sold at profits. if RH have a nice budget to buy players i bet he will ignore the youngs too. also cant recalled whether he gave young players a lot of chances when he at fulham.

QUOTE(Leonard liew @ Jul 25 2010, 06:35 PM)
HODGSON: TORRES HAS BEEF WITH CLUB

25th July 2010

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson admits he is running out of options in his bid to keep Fernando Torres at Anfield.

The new Reds boss, who briefly met with the Spain international for the first time last week, insists Torres' apparent reluctance to commit himself to another season with Liverpool pre-dates his time at the club.

"Unfortunately, I cannot do much more," Hodgson admitted in quotes reported by the News of the World. "His beef is with the club and not me."

He added: "Fernando's situation has nothing to do with me, he made that perfectly clear over the phone during the World Cup and when I met him face-to-face.

"He knows what I would like to do with the club. He knows how much I value him.

"But his issues are with what has gone on in the past rather than the future.

"If he has problems with the club for things in the past, it is difficult for me to dismiss that."

RB? RB no longer with us la, how to offload our youths...its RH now  rclxub.gif

RB did a good job by hiring a youth coach from Barcelona last season, and King Kenny as our ambassador to scout for youth talent though....it may take a season or two for our youth to compare with the other big 4 team's youths.  smile.gif
*
only arse and the manc youth is IMHO decent enough.. chelsea and spurs are no where decent. here's hoping RH would give em the chance to play. at least the league and FA cup.

QUOTE(Burningsunz @ Jul 28 2010, 07:37 PM)
Neal: Carragher could manage Reds

Club legend Phil Neal believes defender Jamie Carragher has what it takes to become a future Liverpool manager.

59-year old Neal spent 11-years at Anfield, making 459 league appearances and winning eight league titles as well as four European Cups.

He also achieved success as a manager of Bolton, Coventry City, Cardiff City and Manchester City, and has urged new Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson to get current Reds hero Jamie Carragher to follow the same path.

"He should think about his coaching badges," Neal told The Sun.

"I'd like Jamie to be part of the management under Roy Hodgson. He's Liverpool through and through."

Carragher, 32, has spent his entire career at Liverpool, making 435 appearances and playing a crucial role in the club's 2005 Champions League win.
maybe not in the near future. he more suitable to an assistant if he decided to hang his boots after his contract expires. but i really wish he could manage liverpool someday. and i hope he didnt up be a bitter pundit like most of ex liverpool players.

What's on his mind? Maxi out? Seriously? WTH
*
maxi want out. he came liverpool just to up his chance to play in world cup only. this is why i dont really like south american players.

insua maybe will stay because no other club wants to meet his wages demand.

Added on July 30, 2010, 4:12 pmReds win marred by racist taunts

Liverpool's Europa League opponents FK Rabotnicki could face action if UEFA authorities are alerted to an incident of racist crowd behaviour.

Pictures have emerged from Liverpool's 2-0 over the Macedonian side in Skopje of supporters directing monkey taunts towards the English side's players.

Liverpool started the third qualifying round tie at the Philip II Stadium with two black players in their side in double goalscorer David Ngog and 19-year-old winger David Amoo.

Macedonian football has had a problem with racist behaviour in the past.

In September 2003, England players Emile Heskey, Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole were all the subject of abuse in an international against Macedonia at the same stadium.

An English flag was also burned and European governing body UEFA later fined the Football Federation of Macedonia £10,730.
Bloody Racist

they boo because soto is greek. (uncle google macedonia and greek)

Maddie & all those who wanted a "Standard Corrupted" shirt, please keep you browsers to MyRAWK, we are talking to them to do a bulk order, we should be putting up a form soon. will advise once I have more info.

On the Aussie, I was sooooo excited when he signed, but of course we knew what happened, I suspect that his hot wife has a lot to do with his injury problems as he is always having groin injury.

Maddie,
Posted that because I could not take the naivety ranting, of course our friend turned around and posted news from the lovely S*N. Can some one please tell him about the club? I'll be in and out a bit, see how the forum develops, if it goes back to the days when we had great discussions, then why not? Right?  whistling.gif
*
i might grab one shirt if they allowed you to do the bulk.

and hopefully the rest of the all timers come back to this forum too. smile.gif

QUOTE(sissoko @ Aug 7 2010, 11:27 AM)
ARSENAL have launched a stunning £23million raid for Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina.

Arsene Wenger sees the Kop star as the man to solve his problem position.
And the Gunners boss is prepared to go up to £25m to land the Spaniard.
But Wenger knows he faces a massive battle to lure one of Liverpool's prize assets away from Anfield. He had been eyeing Fulham's Mark Schwarzer but the chance of getting Reina, 27, is far more mouth-watering.
Reina, a £6million buy from Villarreal five years ago, signed a new six-year deal at Liverpool in April.
He missed Thursday's Europa League win over Rabotnicki after only returning to training on Monday - together with the rest of the club's Spanish and Dutch World Cup stars.
Wenger is desperate to sign a top keeper after both Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski copped a stream of criticism for a series of clangers over the past 12 months.
But Liverpool insist they do not want - or need - to sell any of their big stars.
And the prospect of new ownership bringing a huge cash injection to Anfield leaves Wenger with a major fight on his hands.

Few more days to Arsenal game and I cant wait to see the new team played under a new gaffer. We may get a beating from the gooners but I personally think first few months (or this whole season) is about the build up for something better under RH. let's hope the freakin owners pack their bag and go soon.

on a side note, I believe if you're a fan then it's not hurt to learn something about the history of the club along the way. Like Duke said, it will not look good on you when a fans from other club point something about your club that you didn't know. IMHO, the stories behind The S*N and Hillsborough is important for any Liverpool to know.

and a lot of top european team especially Milan was boss after the tragedy. singing YNWA before their games. full respect to them.
