QUOTE(8sg9ft @ Aug 6 2010, 05:50 AM)
Cole looked really good in this game. And his connection with Stevie G will only get better when the season goes along. Kelly looked solid and Pacheco looks to have a bright future at Liverpool. Jovanovic was more than decent too. Hopefully, they can continue playing this good when tougher opposition comes along. Bring on the Gunners!!!
*
it would be good, we lack much creativity from the midfield at the start of the season without alonso & with a still crooked aquilani.

well with a much need gifted midfielder in cole, we can only pray we still have enough cover for them when the season starts. We have been traditional slow starters abeit few seasons ago where we almost nick the big one.

the back up coming of age would be a welcome bonus. its about now they shd be maturing into giving the first teamers some welcome challenge for positions

QUOTE(joekruger @ Aug 5 2010, 11:28 PM)
by the Financial Times
At QSL’s small office in central Beijing, company employees were still unpacking boxes having recently moved from a much smaller office. A staff member said the company employed around 15 people in Beijing but he had not heard about a plan to buy Liverpool FC.

After repeated questions to Mr Huang’s spokeswoman, the office addresses were removed from QSL’s website on Thursday afternoon.
*
not some dirty discredit tactics from gillett i hope, regardless if they (QSL) are back by triads or some china's undergrounds (figuratively speaking), they would be more gentlemen's honour then the lying stinky passionless cowboys.

not exactly, Mellor scored in almost every match during his reserves stint, most fans were excited about him playing for us but turned out to be mediocre.
*
YUP the earlier batch of academy were too lightweight for the actual competitive BPL then. hopefully the overhauled academy youngsters prove to be the maturing kind.

Mellor lightweight? hehe
*
For his size & sometimes appears too lembik against BPL defenders, but nonetheless (for me) he is & will be remembered for the knockdown to gerrard to score for a last great group CL enroute to the night in may.

well, he is struggling in preston North end/Sheffield WednesdayFC, never really bloossomed to what he could have, but still remembered for his little but massive contribution in 2 big LFc games

QUOTE(wolvie2k @ Aug 9 2010, 01:24 AM)
I don't know a lot about Liverpool's history. I just like watching them play. I loved watching them play since I was a kid. I guess if I still don't qualify as a fan in your eyes then so be it.

I will still support and watch them whenever I can. I will still buy their shirts too. I welcome anyone to do the same regardless of how much they know about the club.
*
agree, but some 'new' fans need to know Liverpool Football club. its rich history & the traditions

"history defines you, one learns nothing if one chooses to ignore the past"

which is why 'some' LFc fans needs some etiquette even amongst fans. I have been a long LFC supporter but why I first to acknowledge that i'm cant recite all of the songs, I can point who's whos players, those that played >110% for liverpool , even those with limited talent but played with a lions heart & never complains even if he only plays only few minutes towards the end. (point to erik meijer)

sometimes they leave me aghast on their comments (ignorance). nontheless reminders are usually made so that they can filled the knowledge & not be stupid, glory seekers, fame seekers like.. shakehead.gif

You lots must be delighted, no?
*
like i said, the cowboys wants to sell to donkeys if they can for a large profit. I'm not convince Kirdi's consortium of whatever is solid but just like the yanks they planned to borrow heavily to leave LFC in a bigger debt. Its like playing musical chairs. btw Kirdi' is a personal friend/ intorduced by one of the cowboys sons.

this will leave liverpool into a bigger abyss

There's plenty of Meijer stories that made him cult figure in Anfield even though his time in Liverpool is short. Can't really remember watching him played that much but I love reading stories about him.

No other player has so much stories except for Carra i think.
*
one must try if you can. his bravery is a shining example, i must add i haven't seen an equivalent moment. some other fans (clubs) will give the stick saying that he wasnt a proper player, hardly any skill, big & clumsy slow (though intimidating he might be), i feel honoured to have watch his rare minutes for the reds.

Ah, how I relish the good old days where debates were heated and went on for days, and ended up with posters being (unfairly) banned.  whistling.gif

Perhaps I was being a little too harsh there, the thing is that it pains me not when fans do not know about the club, no one will know everything there is to know.
*
true, wish things were proper, as it is (base on if you believe whose winning the tussle) liverpool Fc is going shakehead.gif

we have cancerous fans, if left unchecked may breed to an extend of doh.gif

QUOTE(CrossFirE @ Aug 11 2010, 05:20 PM)
huh? crouch is coming back?
*
ok, he seems to be pushed around by many other managers other that Rafa, (whom received lots of stick when he did), why? crouch cannot command first 11 football team sheet in other club meh??? die die also much return to LFc?? I'm not against crouch but there IS a reason he didnt & couldnt command a regular at LFc yet the mud slinging on rafa is not justified when crouch himself has been pawned around like a take & leave damaged goods.

on a sidenote. hurray!!!, anti rafa fans, you have a new supporter!! if things suppose to go as is, possible new LFC owner/director!! rclxm9.gif

QUOTE
Potential new Liverpool owner Yahya Kirdi has done little to endear himself to Liverpool supporters by claiming former manager Rafael Benitez “did nothing for Liverpool” and was a dictator.

The same Rafael Benitez who led the club to their highest ever Premier League points tally and brought star names like Fernando Torres, Pepe Reina, Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso to the club.

Kirdi said “Rafael didn’t do anything good for Liverpool. Hodgson is very good for Liverpool because he’s not some kind of dictator.”

Liverpool fans, already skeptical at Kirdi’s credentials and links to current owner George Gillett, will be even more dubious about Kirdi having heard these comments. Having had to suffer Tom Hicks’ continual bad press with some of his ridiculous comments in recent years all Liverpool fans want is an owner to act with some dignity and class.

hmm, its been reported in more sites, & i suppose its not "misquote" but a genuine Gillett & Hicks mouthpiece.... opps i mean a person with such dignity. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

just get more & more banks to finance (sink LFc into deeper abyss).

We have not 80,000 capacity stadium, we can't repay always use players sold (profits) to finance your interest payments as in the past, you Uants

QUOTE
Yahya Kirdi has added fresh confusion to takeover talk at Liverpool after announcing that he wants "at least two months" to consider a deal.

right, you need more banks to finance the stake to 700million pounds so that G&H cowboys will ride smiling to the sunset?

Indeed Hodgson has proven that he is capable of building a side with a relatively small budget but he does need to work on improving last season's poor away form. We won only 5 games away from home while Hodgson only won 1 with Fulham.

Just being realistic here.

i need to get the rosary

with relatively the same squad that blipped last season & amass the highest points ever for Liverpool in the previous season, i feel i take my chances the players will know they let themselves down last season (granted we missed key fellas who could carry the game)

much like englands preformance last night, gerrard was left to carry a lot of responsibilties. (He did it nto because he's out to show the world but rather he is & feels the great responsibilty in putting on the shirt (be it LFC of england< he kinda explained it to media pre-world cup), he cant do it for the whole season alone, now its the other first 11 to lift liverpool in games when key duo is either out injured or a blip in form.

the fate of how we fare this season may rest on Aquilani, Joe cole, Mascherano, Jovanovic, Skrtel, Ngog & Babel to step up

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Aug 13 2010, 12:34 PM)
Since no one provided an answer to my question, can I safely concluded that no one has actually seen Poulsen play? Ah perhaps someone from the Juve thread can enlighten us so we know if we should get excited or not.

I like Masch but not as much for his ability as a footballer than for his commitment and passion. He is the type of player that inspires you to play harder and I can see why Maradona gave him Argentina's armband. You don't have to be the most talented player in the team to inspire your squad and this is one of the hallmarks of a great leader, that your mere presence gives your teammates a sense of assurance that everything's going to be alright. As a fan, his name is one of the first I look our for when the starting lineups are shown on the screen. As a player, you know that if you get caught out of position, you'll see Masch run the full width (or even length!) of the pitch because as they say, "he's got your back". He possesses the tenacity that many players don't these days. He reminds me a lot of Edgar Davids actually, minus the goggles. I still find it a little insulting that he has been accused by rival fans of being dirty. I disagree. He is enthusiastic, sometimes a little over-enthusiastic but he doesn't set out to injure players. He has injured himself on countless occasions by going into 50-50 challenges at full speed so you cannot say he is dirty because if he were, he wouldn't take the risk of getting himself hurt.

As I type this, images of him dashing from the corner of the TV screen, into the main frame where the ball often is, come to mind. I will miss seeing him scampering across the field, protecting the back four like it was his castle being seiged by invaders. It looks a certainty that he'll leave so I will bid him a premature farewell. May you piss off many more opponents to come with your burning desire to make their lives a living hell on the pitch, and may you one day return to Anfield as a friend of the club, even if you are flying an enemies flag. YNWA.
*
aye, he's a great legend in making. i am always a fan of argentina players over brazilian (oopss lucas.
lucas is probably the most unbrazilian player by their fans standard.)

If he goes to barca, good luck to him. we probably wont cross swords against his new team in the near future. but we must get back to CL. its is very important for liverpool.

this season, amongst the leading pack. arsenal & red devils appears to the 2 leading teams showing good form & with some new reinforcement to ManUtd, its going to really tough for any team to be in their way.

someone needs to vex them then tongue.gif

Can someone enlighten me why the hell are we taking Aliaksandr Hleb? He is a total failure.Even during his "prime" time at arsenal, that wasn't really much success. Sigh.
*
we are in the position where spurs was years ago. no additional big, good signings for squad depth.
we have to make do for know. we have alrady accepted the cowboys cheated us, just wait for the storm to pass. it might that a while longer.

LFc its not to a situation where is gun in pointed on its head, we almost would do a leeds/newcastle if the cowboys continue to drag us down.

Gillett, Yahya Kirdi & Tom Hicks (the cowboy fraudters??)

QUOTE(rushmode @ Aug 14 2010, 03:14 PM)
i think you are missing the point of these shirts. it's suppose to be a campaign to boycotted the club's official merchandise as long as the Yanks are the owner because big percentage (if not all) the profit coming from these official merchandise will be use to pay for the debts and not to club's fund. so if all the fans boycotted, one source of money for the Yanks to service the debt is gone and they will feel am extra problem to pay the interest on time.. hence a small step to pressure them to sell up.

standard charted will not be totally hurt because during all matches.. the team will still wear the official shirts, their logo also will be all over anfield and they can always use the players for their ads.
*
yeah & having RBS not extend deadline but issue interest/fines to the duo. G&H please ride away with your tail hidden beneath, you created too much problems with your lies.

ahh, i see RH is not willing to trod the path that plagued rafa. in him (aqua) there is a posibility of him fighting for midfield position when if all current LFC players stays off the treatment table, he is not worth the risk (for RH). possibly putting him back in italy, where he may get comfortable of himself (& regained his magic?)...

then sell him off
