QUOTE(e30 @ Jul 21 2010, 08:21 PM)
wow, i am rather surprised the club decided to give the 10 shirt to Cole, after announcing jovanovic will be donning it. it confirms riera will be offloaded, and perhaps roy is going to give babel an opportunity to shine. however, an interesting point is to see who the  #7 shirt is being saved for? loic remy is coming perhaps? i'd be pleased if dirk kuyt was handed the #7 shirt though
*
maybe RH knows that number 7 is a voodoo number. he dare not give to any other players. lolz..

wow?? huntelaar now? hmm.. huntelaar is a player who can hold on the ball but we really need to see that. swapping with babel is not a bad deal at all.

if masch want to go, let him go. no player bigger than club.

huntelaar might be a good grab as a back up. i think our back up striker might play more than 15 matches this season. torres too fragile. huntelaar is one of good striker in penalty box of what we really need now.

bridge might be useful for this season only. we can get better once club is sold to new buyer
*
i think both of huntelaar and bridge is good but we have to get them both in good price.

Riera completes Olympiacos switch
Friday 23rd July 2010 19:13

Albert Riera has completed his move to Olympiacos on a four-year contract, the Greek club have announced.

The Spanish winger was presented to media today after fans lined the streets to welcome his arrival at the Athens club.

The 28-year-old fell out of favour at Anfield last season after an outspoken attack on former manager Rafael Benitez and describing the Reds as a "sinking ship".

Reports claim the deal is worth £3.3million and that Riera has signed a four-year contract.

Riera joined Liverpool from Espanyol two years ago but failed to impress regularly, scoring just five goals in 56 appearances.

He was linked with Spartak Moscow last season but his wage demands were thought to have priced him out of a move.

Speaking about his motivation for the move, Riera said: "I am eager for titles and honours.

"I am comfortable with my decision and I will be playing with a group hunting for trophies.

"I came to win titles, which are missing from my career."

Quick translation of details:
- Agent confirms Liverpool 'strong interest'
- 90% chance that the player "will leave Wigan"
- 8million euros is the fee
- still on holiday in Honduras
- waiting for Liverpool call to go for medical

QUOTE(Burningsunz @ Jul 26 2010, 12:55 PM)
Forlan in, Torres out at Anfield?

With Fernando Torres looking increasingly likely to leave Anfield, manager Roy Hodgson is looking at replacements for the Spaniard.

According to The People, Liverpool's management have been in contact with Atletico Madrid officials recently to check on the availability of Diego Forlan, and were quoted £15 million for the former Manchester United man.

Forlan recently stated publicly that he'd be happy to remain with the Colchoneros heading into the future, but later followed up by stating that he could be tempted away from the Vicente Calderon by a "good offer" from abroad.

Hodgson will make an bid for Forlan if Torres departs and Hodgson isn't too optimistic on his chances of keeping  the World Cup 2010 winner following recent discussions with the forward.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini had already announced that his club would be willing to pay £70 million if the striker was willing to leave Anfield.

QUOTE(Burningsunz @ Jul 28 2010, 10:26 AM)
Liverpool agree £2.5m fee for Young

Liverpool have agreed a deal worth £2.5 million with Aston Villa for defender Luke Young, according to the Guardian.

The 31-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park due to the repositioning of Carlos Cuellar to right-back.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are on a hunt for a full-back due to the departure of Fabio Aurelio and the impending sales of Philipp Degen and Emiliano Insua.

However, it remains a question whether Reds manager Roy Hodgson will deploy Young as a back-up to Glen Johnson or as a first choice left-back to replace Insua.

Young was handed the opportunity at left-back due to an injury to then first choice Wilfred Bouma but fell out of favour with Martin O'Neill last season, where he started just 14 Premier League games.

The signing of Young could also help Liverpool's homegrown player quota, a new ruling introduced to the Premier League.
*
really? Luke Young? is he good? he is old but experience i think. well.. 2.5 million is ok i think..
